Select Increments DPW9702K5 Dash-Pods with Kicker Speakers

I had some doubt when I bought these as to whether they'd work well in my Jeep. Instructions came with them and it was really easy to install. The only difficulty I had was on the driver's side. There's a little more metal in the dash, so I had to take some pliers and kind of "wrench" it out of the way to fit in the dash pod. Outside of that, the installation was easy...plug in and it works. The sound is good, too.

Having a 2001 TJ, I wasn't sure if I'd need to modify anything, but I did need to cut the little metal (useless) brackets from the factory. Once I did that, the pods went right in and screwed down as the old factory (also useless!) speakers were. It's nice to have sound coming at my knees! But seriously, it is much better and you can actually hear the sound even when the tops up, doors are on with the windows down.

Installed on my TJ where the front speakers didn’t work at all. Going from no speakers to this nice set up should be a big improvement right? Well it wasn’t. I think the product is probably fine, but the reality is the speakers are still partially obstructed by the dash and pointed down at your knee. Going at mild speeds with doors and top off i could barely tell these speakers were playing. I sent sound to front speakers only and they sounded unimpressive, probably because they’re still behind the dash, they sound hollow, empty and distant. When stopped was the only time I noticed a real difference. Knowing this now I would skip this product and go with the dash pods made by the same company. They’re ugly but at least they probably work as they aren’t behind the dash!

good, decent sound from 6" speakers. easy install. for TJ jeeps, you will need metal shears to cut out some brackets. This can be tough if you don't have decent grip/arm strength, but good shears will help.Between these and the additional 6's I fitted in my overhead soundbar, I can hear my music, distortion free, even with the top down at 70mph.

I bought them to replace paper cones that tore. They sound much better.

Upgrade front speakers

Better than the stock jeep TJ speakers but lacking quality bass. I might need to add an amplifier to get the quality of sound they are supposed to have. Install was easy and ok for the price.
