My dad is 86. A few months ago, due to dehydration, he had a flare up of his dementia. Until his doctor was able to find a medication that helped him come back to us, it was a terrifying 7 weeks. Since then, he has felt....lost. Depressed. Wondering what purpose he has anymore, and is his life worth living. While these feelings are not unfamiliar to our aging generations, it was heart wreching to see my father-who is as Aslan to me- suffer with a sick heart. This book has been such a help, and a healing guide of inspiration for him. Providing comfort, direction, wisdom, and afford my father the opportunity to feel wanted.I highly reccomend this book for gentleman who are feeling lost in their lives.It is not a long study, and the print is larger and thus easier to read for people who need assistance.

Thanks to Robert Noland for thoughtfully addressing tensions of living victoriously the Christian life day in and day out during this daily devotional tool.Memorable illustrations, clear application of simple spiritual truth, open-ended prayer prompts to strengthen and defend with His Word, a very real prayer of confession and petition and a pithy statement suitable for placement on mirrors, car visors as reminders of the daily charge - they’re all there for the taking from Day 1- Day 40.Best 40 day devotional experience I’ve had in some time.Can’t wait to take a couple of men’s accountability groups through it, although there’s enough to make it’s daily content the basis for a powerful weekly time of transparent peer mentoring.Looking forward to the author’s next effort calling men to Bible Characters & their traits.

Wisdom is priceless

I bought this book for all the men in my family for Christmas...of different walks/levels of faith. It is very user friendly from beginner to novice in faith. I found it was gentle enough for entry level to make a spiritual walk more enticing and encouraging and informative and interesting enough for those very rooted in their faith walk. Personable stories applicable to life with Biblical application to go with it. Very relatable to life and circumstances.

I love these devotions. The question section gets me engaged with the message of the day - it's an active worship rather than passive. The only bone I have to pick, and hence the four star review, is that in many of the Bible passages, references to God are not properly capitalized. For example, on page 20 in the Psalm 34 quote it says, "Those who look to him for help..." when it should say, "Those who look to Him for help..." There are numerous examples of that mistake just on that page. It would be a five star review otherwise.

I have bought my husband many books and devotionals over the years, but they often get set aside because he is a busy guy. He got into this devotional right away & really liked that he could write in it & that it was small enough to take anywhere, but not too small. He will often quote things to me from it in the morning & it's a refreshing change of conversation to start the day this way.

Love this devotional! It’s easy to understand and it gets you thinking with the questions at the end

It's okay for basics, but if it's meat you need, this is more like milk.
