The radio looks and sounds good but has never reliably locked onto my favorite channel
Gets the job done! I had been using a Tivoli Model One radio with a Terk Technology AM/FM Radio Antenna at my office. The radio looks and sounds good but has never reliably locked onto my favorite channel. I have been frustrated for three years having to constantly tune and manually readjust to find and stay on my station and had just about decided to replace my radio with a SANGEAN (digitally tuned). The Terk antenna I was using with my radio was advertised as superior/omni directional and was relatively expensive so I was skeptical about replacing it with such an inexpensive FM dipole antenna. I decided to give it a chance and ordered this antenna as a last resort before ditching my Tivoli for the SANGEAN digital. This FM Dipole Antenna - Male "F" connector solved the problem completely. All stations now come in strong and static free and no longer drift requiring manual readjustments to the tuning knob. Recommended!

Great cheap antenna.
Great FM antenna for stereo receivers.I bought this to connect to my Denon receiver after I misplaced the antenna that came with it. The sound quality of the radio through this antenna is great as long as you position everything properly (spread the ends and keep away from other electronics).I was really looking for the cheapest option available and this fit the bill. The only downside I can think of is that the split ends of this antenna are very long. TO have them straightened out you need a very large area. I'm not sure if this a requirement for the style of antenna this is or not and I bet it also mentions the length in the description so I did not dock a star for that issue. For what it is this is great.

Almost worked
Helped some with reception. I don't fault this antenna, though. I would have given 5 stars if it had solved my problem completely. It appears to be well made and I have used this type of antenna in the past in another setup in the same spot which worked well.I have new equipment and a new media console, now.I tried placing it in many different locations and different directions to no avail. There's just no way, that I can find, to avoid multipath in my current configuration, so I'm a little sad and frustrated, since I'm otherwise happy with my new media equipment and furniture. I'm sure someone with more expertise could find a way past this. Will probably have to have an outdoor or attic antenna installed, but was hoping for a little holiday music now from a particular station (<40 miles away) to brighten up these cold days. I can get this station (with static) in mono, but no way in stereo. But at this price, it was worth a try.If anyone has any simple fixes to shielding this antenna, I would sure appreciate hearing them.

In my case, makes reception worse
The three stars is a conditional rating - if I get an answer to one issue, I'll change it to 5 stars. The issue is with the reception when this external FM antenna is attached to the radio. I bought the "FM Dipole Antenna - Male "F" connector" external FM antenna by MCM Electronics that Amazon recommends with the Sangean WR-15WL radio. With the switch on the back of the radio set to Int (internal antenna), reception is pretty good - at least 20 stations have strong enough signals to make the green tuning LED light. When the switch is switched to Ext and the external antenna is attached, reception becomes poor, with only a few signals strong enough to light the green LED tuning indicator. The literature that ships with the radio recommends a 75 ohm external antenna. The info on Amazon for the FM Dipole Antenna - Male "F" connector by MCM says that this is a 75 ohm antenna. A reviewer responding in the Q&A section for this antenna disputes that, claiming that it's actually a 300 ohm antenna. I read a couple web sites that offer explanations about the different resistances in FM antennae, but I didn't really understand it. So I don't know if I bought a 75 ohm or a 300 ohm antenna, and I don't understand why attaching this FM antenna to the radio makes reception worse, compared to using the radio's internal antenna.

From Static to Stations!
Wow, so before I had a receiver with a 2 wire connection to the back of my garage receiver, got a lot of static but the radio stations still came in sometimes. That receiver burnt out, and I got a used receiver from a friend that didn't get anything but static. I live in the furthest most suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul, and this receiver had the need for a push on 75o antenna, this did not do the trick at first (since it screws on) it needed a push on to f adapter, got it at Menards for $1.30.Once I had that, this thing picks up every station crystal clear. I'm beyond happy that I don't need to plug my phone in to get radio stations. Money well spent!

Great for areas with weak FM reception
Love listening to the radio but I work in an office with Horrible FM reception. I finally had enough and Purchased both a new radio with an external antenna adapter (Sangean WR-15BK) along with this antenna. Not only can I now pick up the stations that used to be weak, I pick up FM stations my other radio/antenna couldn't even hear. Not a negative but I did have to get creative when mounting it office so it did not look like I had wires running down the wall.
