It works beautifully.
One day, my imac 27" 2017 monitor just slumped forward on my desk. I thought of fixing it with velcro straps or bungee cord but fortunately I came across The MacHack. It is an easy, simple solution that works. I highly recommend this product.

Brilliant simple design for the iMAC drooping Screen
I have had three iMacs all with the same problem. A drooping screen due to the failure of the internal spring to hold the screen in position. I have used several homemade remedies that were not cleaver and worked ok. But this MacHack is brilliant in its simplistic design and works incredibly well. Will buy two more for my Mom and Sister who both have the same droopy screen problem.

Great Product - Quick to install
I looked at the various ways to fix my broken stand spring. Every one of the solutions involved opening up the iMac. This simple fix avoids that issue and literally took 30 seconds to put on. I have read some that say that this is an expensive piece of plastic. I say when you consider all the time it would take opening and closing my iMac, plus the time and gas of going to the store to buy whatever I would have to fabricate to hold the spring in place, this looks like a pretty good deal!

Works perfectly!
Such a simple solution! Very well made and designed lock that keeps your iMac from tilting down. I got this not because of a broken hinge but to keep the screen from moving when I was cleaning it. The lock just stops it from tilting down but you can still tilt it up which is fine. It's extremely sturdy now and easy to remove if needed with no permanent damage to the iMac.

Works great but pricy.
Perfect fit for my 27” iMac but it seems a bit high priced for a 3D printed fix. It does work though and it’s a solid solution to completely ripping apart your computer to change the hinge.

Why Didn't I Find This SOONER?!?!?
My 27" iMac's tilt hinge broke around 5 years ago! I've had an old rubber ball wedged up in the stand that held it in place but it would eventually crush down. I happened to see an article over on MacRumors about this ingenious little device. I took a chance and picked it up.THIS THING IS AWESOME!It is completely simple to attach. It's self explanatory to install. Establish the angle you like, tighten the thumb screw and you're off and runnin'! Thank you to the inventor of this fabulous little life saver!

It's great! - NOTE: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
Apple really screwed up on the design of this hinge. It's a huge design flaw. To replace the hinge, you literally -- LITERALLY -- have to tear down the entire iMac. I mean you have to remove every single component: screen, circuit boards, speakers... everything. Apple has admitted the flaw and you can get it repaired at no charge no matter how old your iMac is through Apple...HOWEVER, you will be without you iMac for 1-3 weeks while it gets sent out. I run a busy business that requires my very tricked out iMac to run, and I can't be without my workstaton for that long. So this is a great solution if you can't get it repaired.I had the original version of the hinge for several years. However I foolishly kepto overtightening the hinge and I stripped it out.So. Do NOT over tighten and it should last. The V2 of the hinge I just got is sturdier than V1.ps: I talked to the inventor and he's a great guy. Support him.

MacHack is a great solution to repairing the broken iMac hinge!
The MacHack arrived very promptly packed in a small cardboard box enclosing the MacHack in a padded sleeve. When you have a broken iMac hinge which does not retain your desired screen tilt angle, the MacHack is an excellent alternate compared to the Apple solution of replacing the hinge mechanism for a cost of several hundred dollars and the complete disassembly of the iMac electronics. The MacHack was very easy to instal. Just slip it onto the stand as close to the pivot point as possible. It may require quite a bit of force to slip it onto the stand but it must not move around or else it fails in its function. Then just adjust the tilt angle and lock it in place by gently tightening the tightening knob. It could not be simpler to install and it works! A great product by someone who thought out of the box. It certainly saves both lots of $$$$ for a factory repair; or the inconvenience of some books or other item to prop up the bottom of the screen.
