Sew Useful: Simple Storage Solutions to Sew for the Home

I've looked completely through this book and am jazzed up over many of the things I plan to make from it. The book is well laid out with many gorgeous full color pictures. There seem to be good instructions although not having made any of the projects yet, that remains to be seen. While there is little mention of fabric yardage many of the projects don't need a full yard but the dimensions of each piece of fabric is listed. I think anyone with adequate math skills, knows how to use a tape measure, and can use a sewing machine would have no problem with the projects in this book.

Another inspiring book from Debbie Shore. I am so happy she created books to inspire sewing projects. I have learned a lot from her YouTube instructions. Now I have a book by Debbie Shore to use! If you enjoy sewing, this book is wonderful. There are many projects in it.

I watch every tutorial and get every book I can by Debbie. Her tutorials are informative and helpful and easy to follow. Her dogs are also a fun addition! She even offers in her books a scan code that will take you to a complete instructional video! These books are so invaluable to those of us that enjoy making things other than clothes. I can't say enough about her wisdom and teachings. She is amazing!

The projects included are great looking however my first attempt to gather up fabric to make the Under Bed Storage has materials list difficulties. Not sure the other projects will have these same issues. I have not looked. 1) there is no total fabric in the materials list. You have to add up each piece and figure it out yourself which is not a problem for experience sewist, but the beginner may be frustrated or confused by this. Not sure if this is normal from books coming out of the UK. I noticed on one project the author indicates "about 3/4 yard" but this is not common practice throughout the book. 2) the author just lists " fabric" in the project page for this project, but in the intro pages (page 8) she indicates heavier curtain weight fabric for this project. I am used to seeing that specific info on the project page, not buried elsewhere. Not a major issue, just sayin' Maybe I am the only person who jumps right to the project pages and doesn't read all the intro info :-) 3) For each piece of fabric in the needed list, she indicates for which part of the project the fabric will be used. However, there is one listing that says "Piece of fabric measuring 46 x24cm (18x9.5in) with no indication of what part this is used to make. I can't readily see where this piece is used in the directions but I think it is the back. Hopefully during construction it will be evident, Visualizing as I just read directions is a challenge for me. Need the pieces in my hands for it to make sense. 4) No finished piece dimensions listed. You have to figure that out from the cut piece dimensions. Once I actually make this, I will report back. I will be able to comment on the ease of construction. Sure hope the conversions from cm to inches are correct, but I will check that before I begin.

Fabulous ideas look super-easy to execute. Got this book at the library, and had to buy my own copy. Really looking forward to getting my machine out & SEWING!

Fun book. Has many very useful and cute projects, good ideas. Can't wait to get started!

Too much fun! These books are great for project ideas, useful tips, tricks and how-to explanation. AWESOME!

I used this book to make gifts for my family members and they went over great! I may even have orders to make some of them to sell!

Las explicaciones me parece que son claras, con esquemas y dibujos fáciles de entender. Como dije los proyectos que trae me parecen útiles todos, pero además que os permite que, con pequeñas modificaciones, realizar proyectos parecidos y lo mismo de útiles. Me parece uno de los mejores libros que compré últimamente. De nuevo, es una opinión de recogida del material, aún está encima de la mesa, sin sitio definitivo y mucho menos, sin haber realizado ningún proyecto.

Plein de projets intéressants, mais pas tous aussi simples que le titre veut nous le faire croire. Certains sont faciles, d'autres moins. Les couleurs ont souvent la même valeur (hauteur de ton). Mais on est libre de choisir d'autres tissus.

Plenty of projects , most of them quick and easy to make with step by step instructions. Make from recycled fabric (clothing, bedding...) and fabric scraps. Book arrived on time, as good as new, reasonable price , which is why I often use WeBuyBooks.
