Get a front row seat to the best fight of the Millenium
I have been a fighting game fan ever since I played the 1st Street Fighter years ago and I will have to say purchasing this game was one of the best things I have ever done. You not only get the best of Capcom's fighters, but also SNK's. It is a dream come true. So if you ever wondered if "Terry" (Fatal Fury, SNK) could beat "Ken" (Street Fighter, Capcom), now is you chance to find out. There are tons of characters to choose from. The levels are detailed and the moves are easy to pull off. They are an exact translation from the arcade. The fighting is intense and follows an awesome story line.Pros: Loads of characters to choose from.Controls are very accurate.Replay value is high as each character has different storiesCons: The only one I could find is that the characters themselves are well detailed; however, they may not be as detailed as the Game Boy SP fighting games.Overall: Definitely worth buying!

One of the Best Games for the Short Lived Neo Geo Pocket
The SNK vs Capcom series was way too short lived. Putting together the kings of 2-D fighting, this game will keep you playing for a while.First of all, there's 26 fighters, half from SNK, the other half from Capcom (this includes 8 unlockables). You can play one on one, tag team (hey, how come this can handle tag team, yet the PS One couldn't, enter the PS One ports of the Marvel vs Capcom series.) or team a la King of Fighters. You can also choose either a Capcom-style level meter, an SNK-style charge meter, or a 'neutral' meter that enhances super attacks if full.Having owned Capcom vs SNK Pro, I can say this; there are more then 3 endings in this game (in fact, every fighter has their own ending). Then there the Olympic Mode where you win vs points to buy super moves for your fighters. In fact number of games & challenges in this mode will keep you playing long after you unlock the fighters & their moves. While there's not much else I can say about it, I will say this, if you have a Neo Geo Pocket, there's no excuse not to own this.

It's a crime that a company like this is fading away...
Fighting fans, our time has come! Introducing SNK Vs. Capcom: Match of the Millenium! This is how fighting should be done. With a slew of gaming modes, a large roster of fighters, and an insane amount of special attacks and stratagies, SNK Vs. Capcom delivers on every catagory... and then some! This game may very well change what you expect from fighting games, if not all games. Let's start with the basics. Nothing new to fighting fans is the Tourney mode, similar to the more commonly known "Arcade mode", where you fight a series a story-driven matches against the computer. This is where you'll do most of your fighting. What IS new is the number of ways you can choose to battle it out!First up are the fighting modes, similar to the "Grooves" found in Capcom's rendition of the game. These affect what abilities are available to you and how you perform your Super Combos, attacks that inflict massive damage on an opponent. There are three differant types, each with their strengths and weaknesses: Average, Counter, and Rush. Master these techniques and find out which one is right for you!Now for the actual game modes. There are three of these as well. Keep in mind, we're still talking about the Tourney! Single, where you fight one on one battles. Whoever wins the most bouts will be victorious. Tag Mode, where you choose a team of two fighters. You can "Tag" each fight in and out. The reserve fighter even restores their health while they wait to be tagged in! Finally, there's Team Mode, not to be confused with Tag Mode. You pick three fighters, but you can't switch them out until they are defeated. This Mode is reminiscant of SNK's King of Fighters series. Choose your line-up wisely.Unsure of what you're doing? Try the Sparring mode to unlock your characters strengths and weaknesses. Find how your characters work and what their moves do, and apply them to a rel situation by setting the AI to attack! Find your ultimate stratagy! After you're gotten used to battling it out (and hopefully, found some favorite characters), you should try the Olympic Mode, a series of Mini games you can compete in to try for high scores! Talk to your manager to gain advice needed to win! There are so many differant events, I'd never be able to list them all. There is almost infinite replay within this game.Obviously, the gameplay holds its own and breaks new ground. But how is everything else like say, the sound? Another strong suit this game has to offer is its fine music and adaquate sound effects, making the battle as fun to listen to as it is to play. Now, the graphics. Some fighting veterans may sneer at the pint-sized, anime-like counterparts of their favorite characters shown in this game, but when you see how well they animate and how smooth the action is, you'll appreciate the Neo Geo's rendition on them. Graphics, on the whole, are solid and likable. Another plus.Precise and easy to handle control in a fighting game is highly important, and this game is no exception. Thankfully, the controls are dead-on in SNK Vs. Capcom. The Neo Geo's joystick is slightly irritating, and may lead to errors in the beginning, but after getting used to it, you'll pull off awesome moves in no time. The buttons themselves are responsive and accurate, though Game Boy users may constantly forget the "A" and "B" buttons are reversed...Overall, SNK Vs. Capcom offers an experiance that shouldn't be missed. Fighting game fans, this is THE handheld game to own. Fans of games in general, try this one out, it may breed some interest in one of gaming's most entertaining and enjoyable genres.SNK, my cap is tipped to you. It's a shame game companys can't all put the love and care you do into your games, and your hardware. It was no one's fault but the gaming public's that the Neo Geo hasn't dominated the handheld gaming market, as it should have.Capcom, take notes.

20+ Character brawl in your pocket.
In case you were sleeping through the last decade or so SNK and Capcom basically rule the fighting game scene, between the two of them they are responsible for Street Fighter, DarkStalkers, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, Final Fight, and more. The two tyrants of fighting games clash in SNK VS Capcom: Match of the Millenium, the game features 26 characters from the various Capcom and SNK franchises, most people you'd expect are here, Iori, Kyo, Morrigan, Chun-li, Guile, Sakura, Felica, Terry, and much, much, much more.Among the 20+ characters there are many modes, the "tourney", basically a story mode, you can either fight one on one, two on two, or 3 on 3, which allows you to use your favorite characters at once, and jolts replayability into the game. The game is very fun, and enjoyable to play, and all the modes and characters will make this a good one to pick up for your NeoGeo Color Pocket.
