For $85, this watch was great. I had almost used it daily for the past 2 years. And just a few days ago, the mainspring started to slip. I spoke to Stuhrling, and due to the frequent usage, the mainspring or the winding mechanism has worn off. I just wish they could improve the parts for this watch in the future. I don't mind paying more if it will last me several years, because this is a beautiful watch. I know they have other, more expensive models, but the simplicity of this one caught my eye.And again, for $85, this is a great watch to have. Of course, this comes with care as well. I am always careful with my watches, especially for the ones that have a winding mechanism; if you are too rough or don't know how to wind it, you can easily break it the first time you do it.

It's a nice piece. Just getting into watches. My grandfather had a couple pocket watches and I've always thought they were fun. They look great with 3 piece suits. And you don't see them often in the store. So I took a chance online. The movement. Seeing all the parts. I love that it stands on its own. Fun buy.

Excellent watch I’ve been running it for a month, and have not had to adjust the time. Also, I have never seen a mechanical watch as quiet as this one. I can hold it to my ear and hear nothing.

The watch is beautiful. I really love it. I have had it for 3 days. In 33 hours it was 7 seconds fast. That is almost a fluke for a pocket watch. It is likely that yours may not be that good. To me, having experience with pocket watches 15 seconds in 24 hours would be great. I love this thing.

Worst waste of money in a very long while.I can only review what i, personally have received and dealt with; so, here is what I have to say:Anyone who truly values a watch wants an accurate timepiece; this is NOT one of those. This worthless (and quite ugly) watch lost 5.37 minutes (5mins. and 37secs) in 7 days. That is worse than the worst $10 knock-off watch that I have ever seen. Literally, I have W^^-M^^t watches that keep much, much more accurate time.But, I get ahead of myself. The FIRST watch I got in the mail was already overwound and refused to work, no matter what I tried. Amazon customer service was excellent. They sent a new watch before I had the chance to return the original. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the young lady on the other end of the line. She couldn't have been more polite and helpful. I only wish that I could remember her name so that I could give her the accolades she so richly deserves. (I have, like most of you, had to deal with customer service at other places- they couldn't compare.)Back to the review.. So, back it went.When the replacement got here I wound it thinking, like most, that a 19 jewel $600 retail watch would probably keep decent time. Hah! Over the course of seven days it lost 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Crazy slow, huh? So I took it to a local watchmaker (believe it or not, there are a few left) to adjust, but even he has failed to get the watch to keep anything like accurate time.[By the way: The back comes off with an eyeglass style screwdriver, and the slot is almost directly beneath the winding stem.]One last thing- looking at the cheap insides (plastic "shock ring" instead of brass), the cheap-LOOKING outside, and the overall quality of the make of this watch I can truly say, after having had two, that I wouldn't give $5 for this let alone the $600 that the website claims.

This watch was a gift for my husband. It was very nice looking, and he really enjoyed using it, however it wasn't long before it broke. I forget exactly what the issue was, however, it should have been covered under warranty. With the warranty, there is still a fee you have to pay to send it back and see if they can repair it, and the fee was enough that it wasn't worth it. It would have been about the same to just buy another watch.

My grandson loves it. He collects watches and this is his first pocket watch.
