Window on the World: When We Pray God Works Paperback – January 15, 2007

I like this book a lot. I homeschool my kids and use this as part of our social/geography studies. I wish there was a newer version, although this works because then we can research and look up recent news in some areas. This was written in 2004 and is a second edition.It has answered prayers since the first edition. I also like that there are spots for general groups, such as missionary kids. So many people groups in this book we have never heard of. It is good to get a glimpse of how big the world is when our kids (and us) can be stuck in our small world right in front of us. It's good to see the big picture, other people and what their life is like. Not everyone has the problem of not having the next and newest technology or a brand new pair of shoes.

As a homeschooling family, we are studying Geography this year. With this book we are learning so much about the culture of each country and how to pray specifically Then at the end of the week, we find each location on their individual map coloring book. The combination of information and then locating the country we prayed for on their individual maps help the information stick. And we are learning to pray on a new level as well. We will never be able to visit most of these countries so this is the next best thing.

This is a great book! We use it as part of our home-school curriculum for "World Wednesdays." Each Wednesday, we learn about the country/people group and pray for them all week long and then start again the following Wednesday. Since the book was published in 2001, some of the stats have changed since then but that's not a problem-- we just go online and research changes on the Operation World website.Just wish there were an updated version of this inspiring book!

As a grandma, I am interested in exposing my grandchildren to the world beyond them. What better way than this handy compilation. They can learn about each country and also become more aware of how other people live around the world. There are specific needs listed and the layout is first rate. Wonderful resource for home schoolers, churches, or just families wanting to make a difference in their prayer life. Beautiful book.

I saw this book at another homeschooling mom's house and I loved it, so I bought it for our family to use in our homeschooling curriculum this year. I am thankful that the book has such wonderful photographs. I think that the photos help to make the stories more real. I am also looking forward to being able to share information with my children about other ethnicities, religions, cultures and countries.

This is a great book for praying for missions all over the world as a family. It would be a wonderful piece to incorporate into a weekly family night. All kinds of various off-shoots could happen to get kids involved. It also would be useful for tying in world geography and teaching children about cultural differences between other nations and our own and the physical and spiritual needs of our friends around the world.

This book is laid out so a family or parent can read about one people group each day. It gives insight into daily life and culture and explains the current spiritual conditions. You can finish by having your kids pray through several small bullet points of prayer requests. This book opens up the world to your kids and shows them God's work across the globe.

Yes, it is what i hoped it would be. I was slightly disappointed in its condition. I think the packaging material broke a couple of inches of the spine o book. The front page was torn from the binding about 2 inches. But it is the book i thought it would be. Thanks.

This is a very nice resource regarding needs of those in many countries. Like the photos with the text summaries for each country described. Good for Home Learning or for extra knowlege about parts of the world and how to pray for their needs.

I first saw this book at a friends house and i knew I had to have it, as a homeschooler in a christian family it's a must, very inspiring and full of important knowledge, definitely would recommend.

Great book. Great tool to pray with my children for the world. They are only 3&5yrs old, so I sometimes skip over detail meant for older children. Informative to me and my husband as well.
