DannerMag-Drive Supreme 18 1800 GPH Pump

My outdoor water feature pump quit and I ordered this pump. It is identical to the one I had. Very pleased it came overnight and works great.

Looks like good quality and feels like good quality. The pump kicks on pretty hard but I assume that's just the nature of the magnetic drive. Just after a couple weeks its already having trouble. The pump will get "stuck". It doesn't shut off but will kind of whine and not pump any water. I can unplug it and plug it back in and it will start working again for a few seconds then get stuck again. If I leave it off for a while and plug it back in it will work again and then after a while get stuck again. For 200$ this thing should not be breaking already.

Pump was shipped in the retail box with no padding. The box was crushed and torn, the pump is working fine for now.

I use this for my cold plunge chiller and filtration. I have a house filter along with a UV water light with the chiller unit. If the filter gets plugged the pump gets loud, but back to normal when it's clean replacement.

I got this pump for my 144g 1/2 round reef tank. It can really move the water. I liked it so much that I also got another to use with my water changes too! It is great for mixing salt water as well as pumping from my mixing barrel into my rolling barrels that I use to transport the water to my tank. Then I just pump the water up to my tank. Too easy! It runs quiet and I love the fact that it can be used either submerged our out of water.

I have purchased 3 of these and in all 3 the ceramic stem inside the impeller broke after only a short time, in this case 2 months to the day. Don’t waste your money

Been using Danner mag drive pumps for along time. Best thing is if the plug up with leaves or debris, the dont burn up. We have very hard water and get about thee years out of a pump

The first 1200 I got lasted all of two solid decades. I was amazed. And even then, it's still worked some so I kept it as a standby. But the new 1800 I ordered only lasted 10 months. And I lost some very old friends cause I was out of town for a few days. Waiting on a replacement now. But I think it's a good company and American made. I'll try again. Moving up to a 2400.Also my first one had an 18 ft cord but the second one was at most 10 ft and that caused a small issue...
