Return to the Review!
This book has many lessons in it, but the most important lesson is that looks can be deceiving. For example, when Evie and Mal dressed up as Audrey and Lonnie, it fooled people. And when someone shape-shifted into a purple dragon, everyone thought it was Maleficent. So, as you can see this book is packed with lessons to learn. I really enjoyed reading this magical story.

Just as Enchanting as the First
We pick up the story with our villain-turned-hero friends where the movie left off, and the transition couldn't have been any smoother! In Auradon, our heroes are living their new everyday lives with ease until our four friends receive mysterious notes telling them to "Go back to the Isle of the Lost before the new moon." Now, Mal, Jay, Evie, and Carlos have to worry not only about weird hate mail but all the crazy weather phenomenon happening around the Kingdom of Auradon! Just when they thought they would get a happily ever after, chaos is breaking out in the Kingdom again!Join Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay, and a whole new world of characters from villain kids to royal kids on an adventure to save Auradon once again! Return to the Isle of the Lost had me flipping pages nonstop to find out what would happen, and I finished the book within two days!

Awesome book!
This is a great book about how you should always work with your friends to accomplish something. I would recommend this book for all ages because it has characterβs that are easy to relate to. [Edited: This was written by my 10 year old daughter. :)]

Great gift!
This was a Christmas gift for a child I do not know. I did receive a passionate thank you note for acting as Santa's helper and purchasing this book from his/her list. She was particularly pleased with this book, which is why I rated it so highly.

Something Wicked Always Comes
I enjoyed this one as much as the first. Both better then the movies I believe. The book feels more realistic on certain issues people have as the movies are musical and comical, we know it's just fantasy. Either way love seeing the next generation up to their old tricks again...

Isle of the Lost 2 was a quick read.
I am a Disney fan and I am happy to see this series for preteens and teens. It was a good story keeping the Disney unit so any one cameras it.

It's not as good at the first one
Return to the Isle of the Lost is the follow up to 2015's Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz, both tie in movies to the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants. The books focus on the children of the classic Disney villains, and their lives. So there's a short recap. What about this book? It's not as good at the first one.I feel horrible saying that, but it's true. I can't quite put my finger on it, the book starts off quite strong and you feel as though you're going to be experiencing the same type of ride as you did with the first. But... But it doesn't happen. Return is written to fit more in line with the events and characterisations of the movie rather than the previous book and I think that may be why there are problems. The first book was darker than the movie, though still in a family friendly way. Mal has gone from Queen of the Schemers, she who cannot be out-schemed to being easily played. Evie and Carlos had retained their sense and Jay has gained fear and lost his habit of lifting. While character development is a good thing, it has to be done in the right way, and I don't think this novel has let it happen.Of course the reason of the plot is also a bit of a let down, being more of a find quest that doesn't have the same stakes as the one of the previous book. It's rare in these reviews that I find myself lost for what to say but it's honestly happened here. I enjoyed reading Return, for what it's worth, but I don't think it's as engaging or memorable as the first book. The writing is still good quality, it's just the story isn't as... It didn't grip me in the same way.Read it if you like Descendants, but it's not one I'd recommend people to go out of their way and read, to be honest. I hope the upcoming School of Secrets series is more engaging.

Don't give up
Took awhile to get going but still enjoyable with fun elements through out. So don't give up because if you enjoyed the first book you'll like this one it just might take till half way before you start really getting into this book.
