The Seth Material

Purchased this for a gift to someone interested in all the Seth books. He really loved it, saying it had a lot of good background on Seth in 'the beginning'. I'm glad I got it for him.

Jane Robert's Seth material originally came out in 1970. It was the first modern book presenting channelled information. It has been called the starting point of the new age movement. Some thoughts popularized from the book have become common utterances in everyday talk. Unfortunately some thoughts from the book have been vulgarized beyond recognition by the same new age movement. Seth or Jane Roberts never, ever say that you make your own reality. What they say is that all consciousness on the planet contributes profoundly to aspects of shared reality. All are responsible to all. This is not to say universe is a free for all. Quite the contrary. Human endeavour is an endeavour in responsibility and awareness.I have been a student of esoterica for nearly all my life and I just found Jane Roberts for the first time. This book is a polished gem of open attitude and thorough information on metaphysics. Robert's narrative combined with excerpts from the Seth sessions is an impressive work-in-progress snapshot from the beginning of a major body of work. Roberts, a natural sceptic, is a perfect narrator of her own strange sojourn into far reaches of human minds capabilities. Her tone is sober, yet enthusiastic. The way the entity Seth comes through her is endearing in manner and profound in content. In my opinion the philosophical standard of Seth's output is on par with the best minds humankind has to offer. His ontology, epistemology and ethics are on par or beyond the best acacemics of last hundred years. The content and its reach are at times staggering, and at the same time the touch is light as a feather. It also comes to mind that to systematically compare Jane Robert's output with her contemporary Carlos Castaneda's would be a formidable intellectual task if taken seriously.I seriously recommend this book to anyone who is interested in theories of consciousness, groundbreaking science and human inner life in general. It is a delight.

I purchased, and read this book because it’s one of the few from Jane/Rupert/Seth that I haven’t read yet. I would recommend any new explorer of the Seth Material to start with this book. It really does set the stage for all the other books. Plus, it includes many gloss pics of Jane that I’ve never seen before! As a fellow Channeler, and author of Channeled material I give this book two thumbs up! 👍🏽👍🏽

I would NOT recommend this book for people who DO NOT have a THOROUGH understanding of the Seth Laws, since this is an application book. For the people who have taken some fundamental Physics classes, would you be happy if your teacher just threw Newton's three laws at you, without any applications or examples, and then asked you to calculate the time needed for a particle to reach the bottom of a 10m, 10 degree incline? I personally would not be happy. This book is an application-and-example of the Seth Laws, given that we have a thorough understanding of the Seth theories themselves. I personally find this book very handy in terms of applying the Seth Laws in real life, since it is written using real-world cases, accompanied with Seth's specific opinions regarding those cases. It gives us specific examples to help us apply the theories in real life.Some of the reviews here commented on the amount of background information given in this book, and think it is too much. If you think it's too much, then you are not ready for this book yet. Because you have not yet digested the theories well enough, and done the Seth exercise often enough for you to be ready for the applications. All of the background info are just right for us to get prepared for Seth's comment on those individual cases. If the info were cut short, then the comments that Seth make would not make sense to us, and then it would just become another book consists of dry theories.Again, Jane Roberts was a professional writer, unlike her husband (as we all know, R.F.B's notes are super annoying!). Jane knew exactly what was the right amount of info needed for the readers, how to organize a book, and she did it.

It is my first Seth`s book. I`m reading it every night. It is a long book and not easy to read. The author describes her initial unbeliefs in the begining of relationship with Seth, her suspicious about mediunship and spiritual communication. During some years her opinion will change, as Seth would prove his authenticity in manny tests and demonstrations. As I have spiritualist beliefs for a long time, the "material" is not a surprise for me. But Seth`s lessons have a deep meaning, unusual in other sources I had read before. Very important book to get in contact with Seth and I plan to continue reading his other works.

The Seth Material is one of the most amazing things I've ever read. I feel as if I have been waiting my entire life to stumble upon Jane Robert's Seth material. In my opinion, the question of whether or not Seth is an actual entity from another dimension or simply an extension of Jane's own psyche is irrelevant. As Seth himself says, "the medium is the message." In other words, the things that came out of Jane's mouth while she was in trance are absolutely fascinating and worth pondering whether they came from another dimension or Jane herself. To me, what makes Jane's writing so endearing is that despite all of these deep metaphysical discussions while she was in trance, she maintains at her core an innocence and simplicity of perception that is refreshing and creates an atmosphere of trust. Jane has the same kinds of questions and concerns that anyone would about such a situation. She identifies with the reader. Her writing is personable and yet at the same time vigilantly scientific in its analysis of everything that was going on in these trance sessions. You simply have to read this material if you are even remotely interested in the paranormal or metaphysical questions. I will definintely go on to read as much of Jane's published work as I can get a hold of.

I ordered this book some time ago and completely forgot about it until recently. It was a fascinating read told from the perspective of someone who had to integrate the strangeness of what was happening to her against a skeptical belief system both personally and externally. Throughout reading, pieces of the information jumped out as personally significant and I think each reader will take something of individual meaning from it in a similar fashion. Sometimes the most useful treasures are found in the oddest of sources.

Mind blowing, by far the best book I have read. Whatever Seth is the information given here is truly astounding.

I came across this book when I was 17. I found it intriguing but had yet to acquire more life experience before I could more fully benefit from its timely wisdom. Seth had a way of helping us reconnect with our selves and reconnect with nature - to appreciate the world we live in rather than reject it as being devoid of spiritual quality. I reconnected with the Seth books soon after the global pandemic came. It was indeed timely.

A truly remarkable book about the experience with a remarkable spiritual entity. Must read before reading SETH SPEAKS!
