Ineffective
I bought a different MM model many years ago as a gift for my parents in Florida. Worked like a charm; trapped 1000’s of mosquitos over the years. Really helped their situation.Bought this unit last July for use in OK with great anticipation. Used Lurex 3 as per company’s recommendations for our region. Placed it in the spot that most met their placement criteria.Trapped maybe a dozen mosquitos after 6 weeks. Called the manufacturer only to have them insist it must be a location problem. They were not open to the fact that there may be an issue with the unit itself or make any attempt to further troubleshoot. Reluctantly ran it all season last year with the same results (never had to empty the trap). Put it away for the season and hoped for better luck this year. Set it up with a new tank, quick-cleared valve and installed new attractant. After the first tank of gas *(21 days) - no mosquitos. Moved it to a second location on the opposite side of the yard with some high grass. Purged valve, replaced attractant and added a new LP tank. Indicator light OK (as always). 21 days later - NO MOSUITOS despite the fact that they could often bee seen near the unit.Could be the particular unit is defective (but no troubleshooting options offered other than placement) or the the Patriot model is less (not) effective. To us, the unit is essentially a resource consuming brick.
