Incredible alternative to wet setting and heat setting
The media could not be loaded. First and foremost, I'm not a professional.I have never had success with hot rollers, for whatever reason. It always feels like the only part of my hair that takes any curl is the end. And they just don't give me lasting curls. Wet setting usually is my go-to. But I also really like sleep. Once upon a time, getting ready involved a curling iron that took a thousand years to wrap every strand just for sub-par results and damaged hair. The trick to curling your hair effectively is for your hair to dry and/or cool in the shape you want. And for ALL of it to do that, not just the tip (which is why they suggest using a curling iron from the root). This how the Caruso is so effective. The steam makes your hair do both, given enough time to set. That's why curling your hair with curling irons falls flat so quickly. When I use the Caruso, I will set my hair with the rollers (I find it extremely beneficial to set the clip over the steamer for a few seconds to get the hair that is not making direct contact with the roller nice and warm) and then wrap it with a head scarf and let it sit while I do my makeup. On average, it's about an hour, but I wait until the very last minute to remove them. Some tips!-purchase additional rollers if you're hoping to use the same size roller on your whole head-don't leave the roller or cap over the steam for too long. If condensation builds enough to drip, your hair will get wet and never dry. This system is not meant to dry your hair.-if you try to roll too much hair, the cap won't fit, if it's not enough hair, the roller will slip right off, but sometimes the cap for whatever reason, just won't get a tight grip no matter what you do. In this case, try flipping the cap over. I've come to recognize which caps aren't a snug fit and I roll them onto the top of my head, so they have less gravity to fight. This is also why I wrap them up with a silk scarfSome cons-as someone mentioned these are super annoying to travel with. I mean, it's easier than traveling with hot rollers for sure, but between the hard plastic cap and the large steamer, it takes up space in luggage for sure.-like I mentioned above some of caps are loose-fitting. I don't know if that's because the heat and steam stretch them out over time or what, but the cap plays a huge role in getting a propper curl, so it's worth trying to make it work. All in all, I LOVE this system. My hair is about shoulder length now, but I usually keep it shorter. At it's shortest, the petit was my jam, but I currently use the small, sometimes the medium. I have no idea how you would get a tight curl with long hair, I'd imagine you need a lot of rollers. But it's perfect for my hair. It's my go-to when a wet set just isn't an option. It's faster and healthier than hot curling irons and has better results than hot rollers.

Is it me?? Or is it my hair...
I am very perplexed as to how certain items can achieve tons of 5 star reviews and also tons of 1 stars. I guess, in this case, it really does all depend on the individuals hair. (and having a working unit lol)For me, this Caruso system has not worked at all. Not one bit. I'm Caucasian with shoulder length, very fine, very delicate and thin (a result of chronic illness) hair. Now, usually, my hair takes a curl from irons or other curling tools in seconds, like lightening! I've never had much of a problem with curls falling.Lately, I've been on a "I don't wanna use heat anymore!!" escapade (imagine Seinfeld and his cowboy boot or pirate sagas). I've been pin curling, sock curling, etc etc. I found this contraption and after reading all the reviews about bodyful curls that last and last and extra moisture and having longer hair as a result yaddi yadda, I knew I just HAD to have this! So I exclaimed to my supportive husband "I'm gonna order this hair thingy right here!"So I waited and waited for a week until it arrived and I was SO excited! I am hugely self conscious of my super thin hair, as I'm only 30 and used to be somewhat attractive. I feel like a balding rat most of the time nowadays. Anyway, I opened my Amazon package and immediately got to work. First attempt = failure. Second attempt = Failure. Third, Fourth, Fifth attempts = failure.I am pretty good at rolling my hair, so I don't not believe that's an issue. I don't use product on my hair beforehand, so it's not that. I only use the Caruso on completely dry, clean hair. Like countless others, I have experimented with shorter steam times, longer steam times, in between steam times, and the same with curler-on-head times. When I unroll these puppies, my hair looks like crap! Seriously, like crap. It looks thinner than when I use velcro rollers (which rip my hair, wahhhh), and it gets all lank and sad looking, like a dying flower that some guy you don't like gave you. Then the ends begin to turn in weird directions and nothing looks fluid and smooth.I suppose my hair may look a teensy weensy bit shinier at the end, but that doesn't make up for the awkward shapes and scraggly appearance it takes on after using these curlers. It's a sad day for all of us.

Fast and Good For Your Hair
These curlers are my favorite. The steam heat moisturizes my hair and heats up quickly. 15 minutes in and you are done. Fast. Easy. Healthy Hair.

Must Order Claw "Clips" Separately
Love the steamer; it gets hot quickly and heats up the rollers really fast, unlike the steam rollers I used in the 70s, which took a half hour to heat up. I also like the rollers themselves because they're not too hot to handle (my old ones would burn my fingers). That said, I wish I could say as much for the clamps, which are worthless. I don't think I could ever get accustomed to them, so I went online and asked for a review of the best hot roller clips. The #1 got excellent ratings, and will supposedly do the job much easier -- and better -- so I ordered them. Stay tuned . . .
