Tony Hawk has performed two legendary feats during his skateboarding career. In 1999, he pulled off the first 900--that's two and a half rotations in midair--in skateboarding competition history. Around the same time, he contributed hundreds of motion-captured moves for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, originally released on the Sony PlayStation. The realism and compulsive fun of the game left virtual skaters blurry eyed from marathon sessions, and now Dreamcast fans get to jump aboard and discover what the hype's all about. Skating as the legendary gravity defier Tony Hawk or one of nine other pros, players work their way up the ranks in search of success. So what does it take to be the best? For starters, an encyclopedic memory of tricks--flips, grinds, slides, inverts, airs, grabs, kick-flips, and literally hundreds of other moves and combinations. Success also depends on taking full advantage of the ramps, obstacles, secret areas, half pipes, and other environmental toys scattered around the nine courses. One or two players (in split-screen mode) race, rack up trick points, or skate through game variations on a variety of courses. Tunes belted out by the likes of Goldfinger, Dead Kennedys, and Primus keep skaters entertained as they attempt their own full 900 moves.

This game Capture both the Late 1990's and Skateboarding
As I stated in the headline, this game captured the culture of both the late 1990's and Skateboarding. I own this game on both the PlayStation 1 and the Dreamcast because it really is that good. I love the game play where each character has their own stats and special moves. I also love how each character has their own career and ending video giving this game immense replay value. Add to that the 2 player option where you and a buddy can compete for points. The only downside is that this game doesn't have as good of character progression as THPS2 but to me that isn't that much of a problem.I think the best thing about this game is that you don't have to that big into skateboarding to enjoy it. The fluidity to be able to ollie(jump) and grind on almost anything while performing tricks and completing objectives is universal for games. Add on a sound track that screams late 1990's and you'll be playing the game just to hear the music. Each location in the game is very distinct and offers different gameplay flow. The Dreamcast version is hands down the best version out of all the versions made. It has the best graphics, sound and load times. I also think the Dreamcast controller is more comfortable than the PlayStation and Nintendo 64's making it easier to pull off tricks.Basically if you have a Dreamcast you should get this game, even if you already have it on PS1 or N64.

"T.H.P.S. One of the best games you will ever play/buy!"
"This has to be one of the best games of the 90's, this game is just about perfect in anyway, gameplay, music, and control settings. I chose 5 stars because of the price 1 cent + the shipping and handling ($8 or so) but it was well worth it, the excellent service, shipping and the condition it came in (practically brand new w/o the C.D. Case, it had no scratches, no smudges, the C.D. itself was just as clear as H.D. Itself! I love playing this game for hours at a time just cause its so addicting, and remindes me of my childhood days. I would recommend this game to anybody really looking for good qualities in a game, or for someone who really likes sports games." P.S. do extensive research before buying a game it's worth while."

Great Game
I baught this primarily on the price and decent experiance with Tony Hawk games. I was verry satisfied with the game. I'm not the best at Tony Hawk games, but this isn't hard at advancing like the other games of the series. I say get it.

Garbage. Do not buy.
In an unplayable condition. Disc was scratched and worn beyond belief. Couldn’t get past the opening menu because of how scratched it was.

was on time but manual is only the cover
i played the disc and it works perfectly and the game is great not just cause of my nostalgia but the manual came as only the front page for display and it looks like someone purposely cut it probably to keep the rest for memories but still if you advertise with manual good shape. 1 page of it does not count as that would be 5 stars but had to make it 3 for that
