Beautiful Natural Pastry Board Adequately Sized For Making Croissants or Pie Crusts
This was delivered on Friday, March 3, having been ordered on February 28, in perfect condition and very securely packed. It is heavy, but it is marble. I put it on my kitchen counter top the next morning and I absolutely love it. It is dramatically and irregularly marked which adds to its natural appeal. I agree that the feet cause the board to slide but found a way around it. Another seller on Amazon has 1/2" white rubber feet. I bought two packs of four and intend to trim them with a razor so I can set the board into the cut down, cup-like rubber feet. This will stop it from sliding and raise the board up enough so that I can slide either small freezer pack bags or frozen water filled Ziploc bags under them to help keep layered, buttered pastries chilled. I absolutely am in love with this board. I have wanted one for years and have not seen the right one until this one, hence to me the "rubber foot issue" is a small surmountable problem that lead me to think of an improvement. It makes a beautiful addition to my kitchen and I am happy to be it's 101st reviewer.

Solid Piece of Marble For Cool and Sturdy Pastry Rolling
This marble pastry board makes for a solid rolling surface at 3/4" thick. It has six plastic feet that raise it up about 1/4" to keep air circulating underneath to maintain the coolest stone temperature possible which makes it perfect for brittle and fudge making. The edges are squared but polished. Each piece of white marble will be different, of course; mine has a lot of gray veining in it that makes it a gorgeous surface for display as well as use. The cool marble surface is big enough for most jobs, from rolling out thin butter cookies to shaping bread. Because it is stone, it protects the surfaces underneath if you use it as a trivet.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Gorgeous board
I was worried that my marble board would arrive broken, it shipped from Indianapolis to San Pablo CA and instead of coming to Sacramento it went to Jacksonville FL before making it’s way back to CA. Once the board finally arrived the box it arrived in was very damaged, the packaging didn’t seem sufficient for such a heavy board. Luckily the board wasn’t chipped or broken. The marbling is beautiful ... some of the other reviews commented that the color was off and that the marbling was very dark but I am very happy with what I received.

Sturdy and beautiful color
Very fast delivery. Ordered it on the 1st and got it on the 3rd. After reading the reviews I decided to get it and it’s perfect. It is heavy so it’s great I know it’s not going to be moving on me and the color is gray like the reviews stated which is great for my kitchen decor. If you are looking for a white cutting board this one is not for you. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Beautiful, but not perfect
I got this marble slab for baking as well as picture taking. I love the pattern on the one I received, mostly white with light grey veins running through. I would agree that it's perhaps not sealed or polished completely. Looking at it from the top there are no visible flaws but from the side I can see a lack of shine in the middle as well as marks from the buffer they finish it with. I also noticed it stains fairly easily so I need to be careful about wiping it down quickly. I gave it four stars because it is just beautiful in my kitchen and it helps as a second surface for hot pots coming off the stove as we have formica counter tops and have to be careful. I also do agree that although it has rubber feet they are hard rubber and slide around when kneading dough or rolling pastry, small rubber grippers would work but really they should install the right feet to begin with.

Gorgeous but HEAVY!
This is beautiful but SO heavy! It’s an inch thick of solid marble! I was trying to figure out where to store it and my husband suggested putting it under the centerpiece on the dining table. It’s so pretty that it looks really nice there! It’s a great size for pie and pizza crust though.

Heavy duty marble beauty
Don't be deceived: this is a HEAVY and solid board. I just used it for the first time, and I am sitting here like, "Why didn't I invest in one of these sooner?" I put it in the freezer for 3 hours while simultaneously chilling my pie dough in the fridge. When I took the board out of the freezer, it was so cold that it hurt my hand to hold it for too long. It was so cold that the moisture from the air that condensed on it *froze* on it while sitting in the open air. It should go without saying that the pie dough did not stick to the board at all, and the butter did not melt. It was beautifully firm yet pliable and incredibly easy to work with (without *any* tearing). Next up: kouign amann from scratch.

Easy fix for slipping feet!
Sur La Table doesn't disappoint! This marble pastry board it a great size and thickness for the money. I read other reviewers who had issues with the feet slipping. When my board came I placed it on a butcher block. but it still slipped. So I made an easy fix by cutting ½" squares of multipurpose temporary tape (on Amazon search: "Nano Tape, Multipurpose Double Sided Adhesive Tape Heavy Duty, Removable Reusable Washable Transparent Traceless Strong Sticky Mounting Tape for Paste Poster Photos Carpet Wall Kitchen Tools (16.5ft)") on each of the 6 feet and that is not going anywhere! I love it!
