OMG, one of the best books I have ever read. This was a book that my daughter had to read for school and she told me it was nice. Coming from her, I decided I wanted to read it. I couldn’t put the book down till I finished it.It made me cry thinking of all those people that might have been suffering due to governments like Dominican Republic.Event though this is a realistic fiction story, it really made me think that the author went through something like this.Now, I will buy and read her other books, I can wait!!The lessons my daughter learned by reading this book was a unique one, be thankful of what you have and never stop believing.

I set up a kid's 'little free library' during the pandemic when all the kids were doing virtual learning. One of the local kids asked for books in Spanish & I realized my neighborhood had a hispanic community that would benefit from this. So glad I could order these through amazon

This is a true story written from the diary of the youngest member of the family. It was deeply touching and Julia 's exceptional literary skills helps the readers see the horrible events from this young girl's point of view. Thanks Julia for filling some of the gaps of my own memories. I was five years old that terrible night, but your book brought back the fear-filled air that everyone started breathing as soon as the news were know. God bless you. you.
