Excellent Biological Filtration for Aquariums - Marineland Ceramic Filter Rings
I recently added the Marineland Ceramic Filter Rings to my aquarium setup, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their performance. Here’s why I’m giving this product a 5-star rating: 1. Superior Biological Filtration: The Ceramic Filter Rings are designed specifically to promote biological filtration, providing a great environment for beneficial bacteria. These bacteria help break down harmful toxins like ammonia and nitrites, which is essential for maintaining a healthy, stable tank. I’ve noticed an improvement in water clarity and quality since I added these to my filter. 2. Perfect for All Aquarium Types: Whether you have a freshwater, saltwater, or even a reef aquarium, these ceramic rings are versatile and can be used in all types of setups. I added them to my filter system, and they’ve been performing exceptionally well. They provide excellent surface area for bacteria to colonize, which helps support the overall biological balance in the tank. 3. Great Size and Quantity: The 140-count Marineland Ceramic Filter Rings offer an ample amount of filtration media for a variety of tank sizes. They are designed to fit Rite-Size S, T, and U filters, making them easy to incorporate into your existing filtration system. I’ve found that the quantity is more than enough for my 55-gallon tank, and I’m confident that they will continue to provide reliable filtration for a long time. 4. Easy to Use: The Ceramic Filter Rings are incredibly easy to incorporate into your filtration system. Simply add them to the media basket or filter compartment, and you’re good to go. There’s no complicated setup involved, making them ideal for both beginners and experienced aquarium enthusiasts. 5. Highly Effective in Maintaining Water Quality: Since using these filter rings, I’ve noticed that the water in my aquarium has become clearer and healthier. They provide excellent biological filtration while not impeding water flow, which is key to maintaining a proper balance in the tank. The beneficial bacteria that colonize the surface of the rings help keep harmful substances at bay, ensuring the fish have a safe and clean environment. 6. Durable and Long-Lasting: The ceramic material is incredibly durable, and unlike some other types of filtration media, it doesn’t degrade or break down over time. I’ve been using these rings for a few months now, and they’ve held up perfectly. You don’t need to replace them frequently, which saves time and money in the long run. 7. Affordable and High-Quality: Given the price and the quality of the Marineland Ceramic Filter Rings, I feel like I got an excellent deal. They perform just as well as, if not better than, other brands I’ve used, and the cost is very reasonable for the quantity provided. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking to improve the biological filtration in your aquarium, the Marineland Ceramic Filter Rings are an excellent choice. They offer superior filtration, are easy to use, and last a long time, all at a reasonable price. They’ve definitely improved the water quality in my tank, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a healthier environment for their aquatic pets. 🌟 Highly recommended! An essential addition to any aquarium filter system!

Excellent Ceramic Rings for Fluval FX4 filter
I use these, the best quality for very reasonable cost in both of the bottom baskets of the Fx4 filter. Along with an 8" black zipper bag filled with activated carbon pellets, (I buy 5 pounds at a time, they only are effective 30 days or so)They control ammonia and help keep the water clear. The ones that came with it can be rinsed but have to be replaced 3 changes/months. Fluval brand is total junk for some reason. Their brand gets flaky after one rinse so can not be reused. Plus cost more. Marineland stays intact. Rinsing them for 3 changes. But after that they don't get crumbly but probably just lose their effectiveness. I have a second set and alternate with the new and old, keeping track. I ;rinse the one set that came out and put in the sun to dry out and sort of sterilize for a few days, using the other set. They hold some beneficial bacteria I'm sure even after being rinsed. Some may just keep reusing to keep the bacteria but I believe in getting new which doesn't take long in a turtle tank!

Good inexpensive media that can anchor plants also
A product like this is very hard to review unless it was the only media in the filter. For my new cannister filter on my equally new 75g aquarium I decided to be diverse with the media to try and coax every possible type of bacteria. I added a whole tray of Matrix and a tray of this and bioballs together. I keep all the media in bags because it wedges in between things and makes cleaning harder. Here, all that is needed is a shake and rinse in a bucket of aquarium water and it is clean. Many reviewers mentioned that it is not porous like other media. This is true. It appears smoother but if you look at it there is texture where the bacteria can grow. Because I also used the very porous Matrix and also have porous lava rock in the tank, this has a different surface area will hopefully attract a different type of bacteria long term to help out. So far the cycling has been slow. Part of this was a low PH issue I caused. It took a bit over a week for nitrites to show and the ammonia to drop. I am using ammonia drops and dosing over 2ppm. That simulates a fairly high bioload so it takes longer than a single fish but is more humane and will allow a larger number of fish to be added when cycled. I am now waiting for the ammonia to clear from that level in 24 hours every dose and nitrites to hit zero. I already have nitrates so it is well on its way. I cannot say for sure whether it is this product or the others working but so far I have good results with this item. It is very inexpensive and I have extra I can use to anchor plants if needed. It is cheap, easy to clean and I feel better knowing it is in the filter helping out.

Good product. Bought 2 more packs.
I like that these are small enough to put in my cannister filter. I am also using in my pond in bags. After reading about the difference between ceramic and plastic , the ceramic is the only way to go. This isn't really a lot but it does fill my cannister filter. My guess is it is about a pound. Could be less. They seem to be well made and will work good.

Excellent size for weighing down plants, and there's enough of them to last the rest of my life...
You can use these instead of lead weights, either by tying roots to them, putting smaller plants through the hole, or gluing plant roots to them. However you do it, they are less likely to leach stuff into the water and blend in pretty well if you are using light-colored rocks/gravel/sand. They are a good size, just massive enough to weigh a plant down, and you get a ton of them for a good price. I'll likely never need to order more of them when using them for this purpose. I know it says that they are meant to be used in HOB filters, but if you have space in your filter you should probably just use more aquarium filter foam, not ceramic rings, but that's just my opinion.

Son unos canutillos bastante funcionales. A simple vista pareciera que no existe porosidad pero son muy buenos, tienen gran área de contacto para almacenar grandes colonias de bacterias benéficas

Bought two boxes and total pieces for the two boxes came at 219 pieces which is about 110 pieces per box. No where near the 140 pieces claimed in the box and also even less than other people reported having less pieces in their as at least they were getting over 120 pieces each.

Indispensable.
