The Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible

Warning: Brad Pitt looking angels
I bought this for my baby who is 11 months now, and was excited to see children's bible illustrated in a way similar to what the people in that area and time looked like. I was disappointed to see that all of the angels were blonde and light skinned instead of either the same as the people or a mixture of different shades. Even when attempting to accurate it seems that the message that being white is pure or holy always has to rear it's ugly head. I don't expect parents who are not of color to understand or see what the issue is.

Left out female characters
Cute illustrations and easy for children to read. I am a little disappointed that they chose to leave out important female characters of the bible like Esther, Ruth, etc.As a mom who has a daughter, I feel like this would’ve been more wholesome if it included some of the women to teach how God uses both male and female to do his work.

Great illustrations mostly, not a Bible just stories
I was attracted to this book because most of the characters are people of color. I wanted my child to see/read bible stories that haven't been white washed. The Characters are actually really adorable and the illustrations are great. HOWEVER, all of the angels are light skinned with blond hair! HOW DISAPPOINTING! I don't think they all have to be Brown skinned, but not All white and blond. I don't like that message. Also, this book is called an "illustrated bible" But I don't think that's very accurate. I would call this a book of Bible stories because it does not include all of the books of the Bible And it's all paraphrased. I don't present this to my child as a Bible, But a book of Bible stories. Also I did color in the hair of the angels with a permanent marker.

Yes!!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!
First off, the book is entitled “The Tiny Truths,” but the real BIG truth that it illuminates and depicts is what the people in the Bible likely looked like. The stories of the Bible are broken down in easy to understand language for young readers. I would say that the reading level is likely high level 2nd grade/3rd grade and up. I have been reading the stories out loud to my small children.I was expecting it to be a full illustrated Bible. That it is not. It is selected stories of the Bible. Either way, I would recommend the book to anyone with small kids.

Beautiful illustration but stories not accurately summaries of the bible.
I'm actually really surprised that this book got such great reviews. The stories are sugar coated so much that it's not even the same story that's in the Bible. For example Adam and Eve's story didn't even have a snake in it or even mention the dialogue between the snake and women how he decieved her into believing she would be as smart as God with the eating of the fruit. And what happened to the Cain and Abel story? I would want my four year old to know what happens when thoughts of hatred, can manifest into other sins such as murder. The author limits violence shown in the Bible. Which is understandable parents want to shelter their kids from these things as long as they can. However I don't think that kids should be shelter from the word of God. This is not a fairly tales but our History and proof of God's love, faithfulness, and promises to all of us. Not happy with this purchase.

Beautifully edited Bible with Diverse depictions of characters and age appropriate truths
I am so delighted with this Bible! The stories are as engaging for small children as they are for adults and the pictures are stunning. The 33 stories selected by the editors provide children with a great overview of the Bible and the Christian faith. I am most impressed by the fact that this Bible did not omit the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as so many other children's Bibles have done. Some Biblical subjects may be more challenging than others to explain to small children, but Christ's death and resurrection are crucial aspects of our faith. I applaud the editors for including this information. In light of this, it's puzzling to note that the editors didn't explicitly discuss the concept of sin. Understanding sin is also incredibly important. Without the knowledge of what sin is, it removes some of the color and context from the stories. Nevertheless, this book is well done overall. It'll be in heavy rotation in our home for years to come! I received a copy of this Bible from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Biblically illiterate
This is lacking good biblical and historical accuracy. Christmas is in here, which is NOT biblical, it is a Christian adaptation of Saturnalia. Christ is wearing Roman garb, Christ was not a Roman, but a Hebrew, Hebrew clothing is not the same as Roman. The hair textures are severely off. There are scenes where the Hebrews are eating at a table with pork, (historically speaking they did not). There are countless historical and biblical errors in this. I suggest going with a more accurate bible story book if you want your children learning REAL biblical history and not a watered down version full of errors.

VERY ENGAGING and my kids love it!
This Bible is one of our favorites! My kids were begging for me to read it every night before bed during our reading time, and when we would stop, would beg me to keep reading. Even after finishing the book, my kids asked me if there was another one, like a follow up to this one. Since that is not the case, to my knowledge, we just started back from the beginning. Such cute illustrations, to the point of giggles for everyone, but the wording is very clear and easy for small children to comprehend. I love, love, love that these illustrations show people of a darker skin color, which seems truer to Bible times! Absolutely recommend this Bible!

Beautiful illustrations and choice of words
I purchased this Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible for a few new families in our Sunday School program and I am so glad I did! The illustrations are so beautiful and the words intentionally chosen to represent the love of God and our relationship with Him and with others made my heart happy. I will be purchasing these for my own girls for when they have children because although that is years away these stories have to be read just like this to my future grandchildren.

This book lacks of some truth !
This book has beautiful characters but it lacks of some truth. Per example, the scriptures state on Genesis 7:2-3“2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.”Noah had to choose the unclean and the clean animals not “two of every kind he could find” (p.26).

LOVE LOVE this book! (and the kids won't put it down)
I truly LOVE this book. I heard about it from a friend who kept raving that her kids kept asking for her to read ‘just one more story’ three nights in a row. The illustrations are adorable and the message is clear and easy for little ones to understand. Truth be told I think I’ve been reminded of a few things myself. I’ve been looking for something exactly like this and I’ve finally found it. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and engaging way to get their kids excited about the stories of the bible.

Fantastic kids bible!
I love how beautifully written this children's bible is as it tells the biblical story from beginning to end in a comprehensive way that is easy for kids to understand. My toddler and preschooler love reading it and repeatedly choose it over other books on the shelf. They stay engaged through a lot of stories in one sitting and it provokes good questions and discussion with them. I highly recommend this product and will be buying more copies to give as gifts!
