Highly Recommend!
I purchased this Newton's Cradle for my engineer husband 2 years ago. While it may seem pricey, it's definitely worth the cost. Cheaper models will not function correctly, as they are too light-weight and flimsy. This one has a solid marble base and the balls have a good amount of weight to them, so they keep clicking the way this cool invention is intended. My son thought it was so cool, he asked me for one just like it for Christmas. An engineer in the making? This is a great addition to a professional's office or even a youth bedroom. It's not just cool looking, but it will keep you watching in fascination at how it works. Really unique and a great gift. Highly recommend!

Very Nice
This was actually a gift for my father. He had originally wanted a cheaper one but after reading many reviews, it seems the cheaper ones with the plastic bases are prone to messing up and tangling up. I'm very glad I bought him this one instead. The base is a nice, solid marble so it sits evenly and works just as it should. My 5 year old nephew often plays with it and even he hasn't caused it tangle. It's worth it to pay a little more for a better product and this definitely is. I'd definitely recommend it.

disappointed
Was disappointed with strings on the cradle as did not work as it should have...the base was good quality but the cradle didn't work as it was intended to.

Okay for the money
It works but is definitely a cheaper version. The center balls aren’t stable when you start the outer balls moving. Fine for the money for my 3yo grandson but if you want a good one that works right you will need to invest in a more expensive version

Very good, heavy, well built
This is one of the best Newton's Cradle sets I have seen. That being said, there is a little extraneous movement in the bounces. The balls are well aligned, but when a single ball is dropped, along with the ball at the opposite end moving, the remaining balls exhibit significant axial (not lateral) motions as well. This may be due to inelasticity in the steel?I use these for demonstrating interactions between balls while tutoring billiards students. They work well for this purpose.

Worth the money and very modern looking
This was the best Newton's Cradle I have purchased. I bought a cheap $10 that maybe swung 15 times. This one is much heaver and worth the money. It lasts a lot longer and swings for a couple of minutes at a time. If you are looking for one that works really well, this is definitely the one to go with.Update: I have had this for a couple of weeks and is still as fun as before. This cradle is heaver and is impossible to break. Some of my friends have commented on it and love it. My little brother has autism and he enjoys playing with this when he comes over. He can watch this thing for hours and it also soothes him when he is upset. This is a great stress reliever and distraction if you need it. It really is worth it and will probably move with me throughout my life.

instead of using glue like so many other cheaper imitations
Exceeded my expectations. The item works very well and it gets many compliments from those who see it. The packaging was very well thought out. The steel balls are heavy and have integral attachments for the string, instead of using glue like so many other cheaper imitations. The action is wonderful, with long lasting repeated swings from either or both sides at once. This newton's cradle was a bit more pricey than others but appears to be well worth the investment. I am an automotive technology instructor and use it for some energy transmission and physics type lessons. My students love it.
