Good bible

I purchased this Bible for my daughter, who is in college. She has had Bibles since she was a little girl but none that she really used regularly for study. I’ve loved my Life Application NLT for many years, but felt like it wasn’t an easy tool for someone new to Bible study. This Jesus Bible is a great compromise, as it connects every book of the Bible back to Jesus and his purpose. Each book of the Bible starts with a two page summary, much like what you would read on the back of any novel you pick up, and explains what is going on in that book, what led to it, and how it relates to Jesus’ work on earth. Just reading the 66 summaries was enough to make me want to dive in and read more!The paper is thicker than the usual onion skin paper of other Bibles, which is nice for marking up. The edges of pages are gilded and the thumb index tabs were a must for learning the order of the books and easy searching. There are two ribbon placeholders, which is nice, and there are numerous essays written by current leaders in Louie Giglio’s ministry family to help achieve greater understanding of topics. The font is easy to read and the margins are generous for taking notes.This NIV translation is easy to understand and widely used in churches. However, I found one instance where I had to note another word above a scripture to avoid confusion. The verse is in Galatians 5:22-23 describing the fruits of the spirit. The NIV translation says “love, joy peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness....etc”. I grew up saying/singing “patience” instead of “forbearance”, so i just made that little note to help her understand it better.The only things I would add to make this the PERFECT Bible would be to put Jesus’ words in red text and add some historical maps.Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know this Bible as I prepared it for her. Now I want one too!

This is a great Bible in that it has essays as well as descriptions on meanings and teachings....if you've ever struggled with understanding the Bible the NIV is the best Bible to have. It's a solid Bible in that it is a BIG Bible. Color is nice. Very happy with it!

This is a very nice bible, the print is very clear, nice and dark, easy on the eyes and it's not a super small print, it's easy to read. I like the layout of the pages, I have no complaints , I'm glad I ordered it. The only thing that I do wish I had know beforehand is that it is a very big and heavy bible, I'm not sure I've seen one quite this thick before? You can't really hold it for very long without it making your arms tired. I sit mine on the arm of the sofa or read at a table for study time. ~Robert's Wife~

This is best study Bible to get you started on your journey of strengthening your knowledge in scripture. It’s really everything you need! This Bible has made a huge impact in my life. Bought this bible because I wanted something that can explain to me the scriptures in a way that makes sense and it does an amazing job doing that. It’s a little flimsy. I wanted the hard copy but it was sold out. Overall great starter bible
