Brie Learns the Art of Submission: Submissive Training Center Paperback – November 21, 2012

I recommend this book highly to anyone who enjoyed 50 Shades of Gray, as the Submissive Training Center fills in all the blanks that I had about D/s relationships and how a young woman comes to find herself desiring to be a successful submissive, dedicated to serving her Dom/Master to the best of her ability.I first read this story in the 9 part novella series and found myself hooked from page one when Sir walks into the tobacco shop where Brie works. She is immediately intrigued with him and he must see something special in her because he leaves a card for the Submissive Training Center for her. So begins an adventure of a lifetime!Brie's experiences at the Training Center are not only erotic and beautifully written but I learned along with her and my life was enriched in many ways. The delicious characters she meets along the way range from one-time encounters, to people who will be life-long friends and mentors. I fell in love with Brie, a hard working, sexy,intelligent and determined young woman.Her trainers and fellow students at the training center learn that Brie is no wallflower, that to submit does not mean surrendering your mind, opinions or dreams. Brie's training brings out the soul and heart of a sensual woman determined to learn to be the best submissive she can be for the Master who will eventually capture her heart, mind and body!Red Phoenix is one of the most talented authors I have ever read. She has a uncanny ability to create a story and cast of characters that live with me long after I finished the series. I have read the story a number of times and plan to read this novel from beginning to end. Enjoy a true treasure of erotica, an enchanting and delicious romp!

I always say this book is life changing for many people...I read this story as it came out in 9 part serial, I couldn't wait for each new instalment.Not only was the sex hot and steamy with a great story woven beautifully around it, there were lessons people were learning along the way with Brie and the girls. Being part of one of the fan groups on facebook and discussing how this story was changing women's lives as the story progressed was amazing in itself. People were learning about themselves and their partner while being thoroughly entertained. People were learning that the fetish world, doesn't have to be all dark and leather and whips and chains, if that isn't your kink. That the community of people were often just like the rest of them in so many ways.This story is so much more than just erotic ... there will be moments that you stop and think about yourself and how you are living your life... many people read this story multiple times, I recommend it, because the first time you will likely be very hot and bothered.Red Phoenix is a truly talented writer, a true storyteller, and an amazing women all around. She loves her fans and it shows, and they love her.When you read Red Phoenix stories there is always more to it than just hot erotica.Red Phoenix doesnt disappoint in the followup to this great story in, "Brie Embraces the Heart of Submission", either...***** BIG STARSKeep a towel handy and your partner close, ;) or batteries charged ... this book is HOT!

I actually rated this book 4.5 stars.Months ago, when I first got my Kindle app I found an interesting looking freebie on Amazon and so I got myself "Brie's First Day of Submissive Training". This shortish instalment turned out to be as intriguing and hot as it had sounded and I was eager to find out what would happen next. However, I don't like having to buy my books in bits and pieces so I curbed my curiosity and decided to concentrate on other, complete stories. A few months later I was delighted to see that the nine Brie stories had been combined into one book. I bought it and read it immediately and haven't regretted the decision for one second.This is a fascinating story for anyone who is interested in BDSM and everything it entails. Through Brie the reader gets an insight into what it takes to become a good submissive. In six short weeks Brie and her fellow students are taken through their paces and transformed from innocent wannabees into accomplished submissives. Not a single aspect of submission (as far as I could tell) is ignored. Along with Brie the reader is introduced to obedience, bondage, floggings, anal sex, objectification, oral sex, humiliation and a variety of other experiences of which Kinbaku (Japanese bondage) was my personal favourite. What I really liked about the way this story was told was that it was a learning process for Brie. She didn't embrace everything she was introduced to with immediate enthusiasm. A lot of the things she is introduced to are acts she had previously thought hateful or scary. She is training to become a submissive, and as with all training, this means pushing boundaries and going beyond what you think you are capable of and comfortable with.As the subject of this book suggests most of this book revolves around sexual acts. I mean, how else are you going to train submissives? But thankfully there was also room for a bit of background story. So the reader gets a chance to get to know Brie and appreciate how she grows. I liked the way Brie was torn between several of the men she interacts with. In most romances I can't stand characters who can't make up their mind about who they love and want to be with but in this book it made real sense. When you experience such deep and emotionally charged exchanges it would be hard not to develop feelings for those you are so very intimate with. Of course the fact that it kept me guessing as to who Brie would end up with in the end was a nice added bonus.I also liked that in these books all the Doms and submissives are individuals; they are young or old, well built or flabby, black or white, nasty or nice; they are just like everybody else: unique. A lot of popular books with a BDSM theme seem to portray certain stereotypes as their main characters (the words billionaire, troubled past, and young and innocent spring to mind). It made a very nice change to read a book with this theme in which the characters came across as people I might actually meet in my day to day life.I also appreciated the way in which this book allowed the author to inform the reader about BDSM and submission without ever getting preachy. With the story set in a learning environment it made perfect sense that some of the lessons Brie was taught were shared with the reader. This means that the information that was given never interfered with the flow of the story but rather enhanced it.The only thing that bothered me a little bit was that it was obvious that this story had previously been published in shorter sections; whenever a new week of Brie's training starts you are treated to a bit of a recap from the previous one. And while I'm sure this is useful if you're reading the story in instalments, it is not necessary and at times a bit annoying when you are reading the whole story in one, continuous book.So now I'm faced with a dilemma. The author has recently published the first instalment of the second book in Brie's series. And while I'm very curious to see what is going to happen to her next I'm no more enthusiastic about reading books in instalments then I was all those months ago. The big question is: will I be able to curb my curiosity once again or will I submit to the urge to find out what happens next? Only time will tell.

Red, I have the privilege of writing your first Canadian review for this book :) If you haven't had the opportunity to read this book what are you waiting for! If you are looking for something raw and sexy here it is! This book will take you on an amazing ride and introduce you to the world of BDSM one step at a time. This is the journey of 3 young women and 4 amazing instructors as they start on their 6 week trek on learning to be a submissive. They learn to work threw their fears and what they feel may be boundaries, they learn about each other on a very intimate level and so much more. Certainly an easy read and one that many of us come back to and call home. This is one of those rare erotic works you come across that is written with heart, it's not just about the sex scenes.

I want to go to that school!!!! This was such a great read and I will go straight on with After Graduation, because I want more! I can't let Brie go!I loved how Red showed a lot of different sides of BDSM: from techniques, plays, rules over how different Doms and subs are and that it's necessary to speak openly and honest! That holding back can causes dangers.The way the story went, I was totally mislead in my belief how this will end. Yes, I was hoping, but these hopes were crashed more than once! Damn you Red! lolSo so worth the read!!!

I loved this book from the beginning to the end! This author knows how to write!!! It's not only an erotic story or a romance story,is so much more! Thanks to the ability of the writer,while reading you become Brie and you can experiment all her emotions,sensations,fears,discovery,failures(only a few!),struggles,achievements... You'll feel excitement with her,lust,pain that turns into desire,you'll learn with her,you'll orgasm with her,you'll fall in love with her!!! I never tried BDSM(even if it intrigued me),I don't know if I could be a submissive in my ordinary life,but I know that reading this book I felt like I wanted to be a submissive,I craved to be a submissive,I CAN be a submissive....I AM a submissive!!!!!! I recommend this book because you'll read not only sex scenes,but also a love story,an "awakening" story,a learning story...this author can go deep into the soul of a character and explain every nuance of it and make you feel every nuance of it in every cell of your body!!!! I've become addicted!!! :-D

BY FAR the BEST I have read in the genre. It is not for the faint hearted in the topic and subject and is graphic in its descriptions. The author handles each BDSM scene well, as far as SIR is concerned, you don't get to know him well, which adds to the whole excitement. I loved many of the characters, even those who weren't nice to main lead. Brie is well written, and a fantastic, erotic and enjoyable journey. No repeating scenes, plenty of variety in the sex, if one scene leaves you cold, the next will not. It has just the right edge for me, but my friends would call me liberal, so I didn't find it too much, in fact I loved how frequent the erotica came, and loved the whole premise for the training centre. Will be reading more, Sir...

It was beyond all expectations. I hope she writes more books on this topic.
