I liked the design of this tide clock but unfortunately I found out the West coast has two tides, unlike the East coast where there is only one tide. I was unable to use this clock and returned the purchase without any hassles. Excellent service and the speed which I got my delivery was also excellent.

Friend had one of these and recommended it and I'm glad I got it. Very nice quality!

It works great and does exactly what I wanted it to do - let me know where the tide is. Now I can better plan my kayaking, boating, and canoeing.

If you choose to purchase, you will be waaaaaaayy over-paying almost $119 for an ultra-cheap, plastic piece of garbage (many other reviews agree…should have done my homework). More details below. It arrived. I was excited. When I tipped and pulled this out of it’s box, even though it was bubble wrapped, I heard a rattle and felt something shift from inside the clock itself. After removing the bubble wrap, I gently leaned the clock back and forth and something inside the PLASTIC case of the clock kept rolling around. I became less excited. As I inspected further to try and identify the issue, it became real clear, real fast, that this clock is almost 100% cheap plastic: the outside case, the face, the back, the hands and the faceplate. Now there was no excitement. There’s more. The cheap PLASTIC face plate was only attached at the top and was off the frame at the bottom, because it had never been attached. (This still wasn’t the source of the rattle, though.) There also were very small but noticeable chips on the edges of the plastic around the frame. My excitement dipped negative. The rattle: it was inside the clock and I refused to unscrew the plastic thing to figure out what was loose. For the price, there should be at least some glass and metal, like the description says. Nope. Does the picture on Amazon look pretty? Sure does! If you have ever used a dating app and met someone in person, you know how I felt at this moment. It was in my house for no more than 15 minutes before I had logged into Amazon and set up the return (Amazon was GREAT btw). So please consider if you’d like to pay $119 for a plastic tide clock with the quality level that matches a politicians promise. It doesn’t matter what fancy-pants designer name they use, it is a $15.00 K-Mart (not even Walmart level) value at best.

The tide clock is attractive and appears well made. It is an interesting alternative to the smaller brass options that have a more nautical feel. Two parts were missing in the box, a battery cover and the "included" battery (as indicated by the packaging box). I returned the item as used and received a replacement that was not only missing these two same parts but was scratched across the face. Amazon graciously took that return as well and shipped me a third, also missing these same parts. The lack of an included battery, although the box indicates one is included, doesn't bother me that much as a AA battery is relatively inexpensive. The lack of a batter cover is someone concerning, especially given that the item is designed to be used around [salt] water. As anyone who lives near the ocean knows, salt water creeps around and gets into everything. A plastic battery cover would help prolong the life of this attractive device. While it appears there are anchor points for such a cover, none was included in any of the 3 boxes I received. In my case I decided to keep the clock and make my own cover out of packaging tape to keep the salt air out of the mechanisms. One needs to be careful not to cover the back of the movement with the tape, otherwise the clock will not function. But, some clever cutting and careful placing and a few minutes of patience will yield you a nice and safe battery cover. The clock does have two holes in the back suitable for nails to hang on a wall. It will also stand on its own on the two permanent metal pegs which serve as legs. Finally, the include hook and loop, a.k.a. Velcro(r), is a waste, not being big enough to add any support to the clock. If I were keeping this on my boat I'd strap it to a wall or, better yet, get one of the brass dial models instead, mount that in a properly sized wooden housing, then attach that to my boat's wall.

Our family loves this clock! We bought one for our beach house and loved it so much that my husband wants to have one at home too. Great gift!!

works great, no problems, keeps correct tide time on the east coast. I would suggest this as a great gift for the Ocean (Beach) lover.

I compared the clock indicated tides with a published time table for the Atlantic Ocean. After operating this clock for over a month, the clock was right on. Nicely made - will see if the finish holds up in our salty costal environment.
