K2 Board Game

K2 is a slow moving game that requires patience and the ability to balance movement points and acclimatization together. Once you understand all the technicalities of the game, you can then appreciate what's required to do well. Being a race, one might think speed up the mountain is most important. Wrong! Keeping your climbers alive while gradually moving up is more important. The tension builds as climbers get closer to the top. I can see how experience at mountain climbing made the production of this game possible. For anyone who's climber gets to the top and is still alive at the end of the game, I say TAKE A BOW! That's how difficult the game is. It doesn't bog down from analysis paralysis, because every player is figuring out their strategy at the same time. It took my group of 3 players one hour to play. We all felt exhausted at the end! I will say it was fun, enough to give it 5 stars. If your gaming group has a lot of patience, you will enjoy K2. Also, all the mechanics seem to work very well. Before buying this game, make sure you watch a few tutorials, and get a good idea if it's the kind of game you would like.

This is a strategy game that will give you the feel of real mountain climbing without actually requiring you to risk your life and your health. It seems easy at first, but planning your ascent and taking into account changing weather conditions is a real challenge.

A fun little game. I find the rules to be a bit too simple, but the theme is neat and you really feel the pressure.

I've only played this game solo so far (you can play it competitively or solo) and I enjoyed it. The mechanics are straightforward (and I think they are very clever) and the artwork is great. There is a nice balance between keeping your climbers acclimatized and racing up the mountain. It is not a game that you win or lose when you play solo; instead the game ranks you by how many points you get (basically how high up the mountain you get without dying). At first I thought the game was too easy, but I underestimated the mountain and one of my climbers died. My point is, even solo there is a challenge. It feels like you are really climbing a mountain; ha ha not really, but it is still fun.

The rules are not complicated. The delivery is not complicated, but playing is challenging. It's not so challenging that's it's intimidating to people that aren't gamers. Several non gamer types I've introduced this game to loved it.

My daughter asked for this game for Christmas and she tells me that she and her friends have really enjoyed playing it.

En solo, en duel, à quatre, K2 est un jeu qui tourne très bien. Bon matériel, des règles assez simples quand on a l'habitude des jeux modernes, des parties très dynamiques et disputées jusqu'à la dernière seconde.Gérez bien votre avancée en fonction de la météo, rebroussez chemin quand elle se gâte sous peine de rester indéfiniment sur la corniche, cette lucidité vitale est finalement celle que doivent avoir les alpinistes qui tentent l'ascension de ce sommet réputé comme l'un des plus difficiles au Monde.Et quand on pense en avoir fait le tour, les extensions Broad Peak, Lhotse, ou encore le standalone Mount Everest sont là pour renouveler le gameplay tout en gardant l'esprit K2.Amateurs d'alpinisme et de haute montagne, K2 est l'une des meilleurs options en ce qui concerne l'immersion nettement plus poussée que Matterhorn ou Trek12. Mais jetez aussi un oeil à Summit ;)C'est un jeu que je recommande vivement et qui rencontre un franc succès auprès de ceux à qui je le présente.Attention ! Ce jeu n'existe pas en français !! Les règles sont fournies en anglais et polonais, une traduction en français se trouve sur le net sans problème et il n'y a pas de texte sur le matériel.

Il prodotto di per se è buono, un bel gioco di società; purtroppo le istruzioni non ci sono in italiano, ma con un pò di pazienza si possono tradurre e capire le regole del gioco dall'inglese.A contribuire al voto medio/basso è la consegna: se la mia scelta cade su questo prodotto in quanto "in consegna in 29 Dicembre", la consegna DEVE essere il 29 Dicembre!Certo, il 29 dicembre era domenica, e mi fa ridere l'idea che IL CORRIERE possa consegnare di domenica.. ma quello che fa arrabbiare è ricevere nel pomeriggio del 29 dicembre un "tentativo di consegna non andato a buon fine", quando eravamo TUTTI in casa.Certamente apprezzabile, quanto inutile, il tentativo di Amazon di interessarsi dell'inconveniente.Corriere per nulla serio!Sono più che d'accordo che di DOMENICA non si consegni, e consapevole che ci siano troppe consegne nel periodo natalizio ed alcune possano slittare, ma allora NON scrivetelo nella descrizione, che diamine!

Sencillo pero con tema y con mas chicha de lo que parece. Mejor a 4 o 5 jugadores

A long cold night - that’s what this game brings to my mind. The game mechanics mimicking high altitude challenges do put us players hard pressed between advancing (and winning the game) and ensuring safety (which can trigger a total failure). Great game. Wish I had picked it up earlier!
