The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me

When my kids were little we listened to an audio cassette version of this book many times so I decided to buy the book for my library. The kids that I babysit LOVED this book! The kids loved the secret, magical elements of the giraffe and pelican. It made the book really fun. I was surprised as I read the book aloud to them that there is a bit of swearing in it. I do not remember that from the audio version but maybe I blocked it out over the years. It is a couple times and easily changed if you don't want the swearing as you read to kids.

A great read. The first full book I read to my daughter at 2 years old. The last book we read to my wife before she passed away from cancer. She couldn't talk but she zoned in & out as we retold the story out loud, we could see she was still with us, still present. The ending brought tears to us all. Will forever be a special book in our family.

Great fun

I thought I was familiar with all of Roald Dahl’s books from when my children were small, but I’m learning about new ones with my grandchildren. The BFG has been my go-to “introduction to chapter books” story, but even precocious children need to be close to 5 before they can sit and listen. Then I found The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me. Perfect for a precocious almost-4-year-old who “got “ the idea of chapter books after the first, albeit far from the only, reading. She promptly moved on to longer and more complex books, and I’m sure we have a lifelong reader.

My grandson is seven and he liked the book - he has read most of Ronald Dahl’s books - I also read the book before I gave it to him and I thought it was a cute book and I enjoyed reading it myself

Who doesn’t love a good book! It’s a fun little book with great art work

We love this story, we have it on audio book & listen to it over again in the car. But this edition is very poor quality. the paper is cheap and most of the pages were stuck together. buy this story, but find another edition.

Histoires originales et souvent impertinentes. Le succès de Charlie et la Chocolaterie fait de l'ombre aux autres récits qui méritent tous d'être appréciés (des moments de plaisir en perspective). Les nouvelles pour lecteurs adultes valent elles aussi le détour.

Entrega muy rápida, a pesar de ser en el confinamiento. A mi hija de 8 años le encanta Roald Dahl. Es de tapa blanda pero no se estropea con facilidad.
