This is the most amazing ironing board I have ever owned
I'm a 71 year old quilter. This is the most amazing ironing board I have ever owned. I spent a lot of time researching them before my purchase, reading every type, bread, and review carefully. First, I received this 2 days after my order. Thanks Amazon. Second, it is everything the manufacture claims it to be......very sturdy, with lots of surface area. I can now iron a full width of fabric for the first time..ever! Wow. It is easy to set up and take down. The iron rest is much better than the one on my old ironing board. I also like the fact that I have more choices for the height that I want to use. As a quilter, I often use it for other tasks such as folding new purchases so like it higher and much lower as I machine quilt and use the surface next to my machine to hold up some of the weight of the quilt as I machine quilt it. My only complaint was, my cord got stuck between the iron rest and the board. This was quickly remedied with a good size piece of cotton batting. I folded it into a thick rectangle shape and wedged it into that space. It stays snug during all my set ups and take downs of the ironing board. My only regret is that I waited until 71 to make this purchase, especially since I iron daily.....and some days lots of it. (Rainy days are quilting days.)

An ironing board to love!
I bit the bullet and overlooked the price and purchased this ironing board. It is definitely sturdy and well made and does not wobble like previous boards I have owned. The padding and cover were a notch above the rest in quality and feel and after a quick smoothing they provide a great surface for ironing with just the right amount of padding. What is really terrific is the extra width of the board which makes it easier to get ironing done without constantly moving the fabric around to ensure all the wrinkles have been addressed. My only complaint is the heaviness of the ironing board - but I only need to pull the board out once a week so it is manageable, but it is considerably heavier than other boards I have owned - the tradeoff is that with its extra weight and quality it will in fact outlast the other lighter more flimsy boards that have fallen apart and ultimately wound up in the trash. The iron rest is really great -- I thought it was a silly gimmick, but after using it, it really comes in handy and works well. Never thought i would praise an ironing board, but so far, it appears to be a quality product and makes ironing a bit easier and the finished product after ironing looks great! I even went so far as to iron my bed sheets - this may not be repeated any time soon, but they looked great!

Love to iron!
I figured after 20 years with the same ironing board it was time to send it off. I use my ironing board almost daily and was surprised it was still standing. Anyway I splurged on this one. Not cheap but I wanted to get the same wear and tear as I did with my last cheap one. This is a substantially solid and well made board. Not sure that I need the iron holder at the end because when you iron with steam it keeps it at a slant and I well I just don't use it that often. That said it is a secure holder. I generally put my board and iron away once it has cooled down, etc. so I would not store it for any long periods at that angle. The board is nice and wide, the four legs are very stable. My old board would topple over (with the T-style legs) every now and then. Don't see that happening here. My only complaint would be that near the top, the board isn't quite welded on properly to the frame so it squeaks when I am pressing down in that area. Not a big deal. Certainly not worth dealing with sending it back or contacting the seller so I did neither. Maybe I should have for the price but I just didn't want the hassle... there was a lot of packaging in the shipping and yeah didn't want to do that. Anyway, I love my new ironing board and am very happy with my purchase

Definitely worth the higher price!
It's really worth the money...I know, you can buy any ironing board at Target, Walmart, wherever. I've had those and also a Polder I found atTuesday Mornings. The Polder eventually got stuck in an upright position and couldn't be folded anymore. The less expensive boards I've purchased always seem to be flimsy and move around when ironing. They tend to tip easily too. After thinking about this Brabantia and reading reviews I decided to go for it. I like the wider size of the board - good for larger items like tablecloths. This ironing board is very sturdy and does not roll back and forth on the legs. It hasn't even tilted to one side or the other when I'm using it. I also like the iron holder; good when it's really hot and using steam - gives me the extra room I need to adjust clothing, etc. on the board. The cover design and color are a bit bold but as long as the color doesn't bleed on fabrics I'm ok with it.This ironing board is perfect for me - it doesn't wobble, medium weight so I can handle it, stays upright and sturdy when locked in, padding is really sufficient, and it can be hung on the wall-mounted hanger with ease (if you want to purchase this extra). I'm very happy with this purchase and it's worth the higher price. I expect it to last a very long time.
