Idea Village Smooth Away Hair Remover

Most women don't care much if they have some arm hair bc it is fine and light. Well I do and I hated my arm hair but I didn't want to shave or use anything. I got the smooth away system once at the drugstore and used it on my arm hair and it worked great! 3 circles clockwise, 3 circles counterclockwise all over my arms using light/medium pressure with the large disc. I don't use the small ones but i I do double up 2 small sheets on the big disc when I run low of the big ones. It not only gets rid of the hair, it exfoliates and makes them so smooth! I love this only for that and will be purchasing more so I don't ever run out since they are no longer in the drugstore! Perfectly smooth arms! Also since I started using this on my arms a few years ago, my hair doesn't seem to grow back as much or as fast. I only needed to use it once every couple of weeks in the beginning, but now it's more like once a month. One packet of them last 6 months or so so I need to buy 2 kits a year and I'm all set! I understand that most ppl think it's useless and it is for your legs and sensitive areas, but it works wonders on the arm. Think about it ladies, nice smooth, hairless , exfoliated arms! Yes please!

Don't buy. Had used this when I was younger and remembered it working well then but now it barely works unless you want to rub your skin raw. To make it worse I'm pretty sure mine was several years old or stored in terrible conditions since there was some discoloration to the packaging in the box and the rubber grip. Trash product, just buy a razor it's a better investment. Very disappointed. If you're revisiting this product because it used it in the past don't. It's not as good as you probably remember it. Won't be making that mistake again.

It sort of works, sort of. I would recommend you try it for yourself because each person might have different results. It does remove hair, sometimes in a few seconds, other times in a few minutes. So I guess it does work in a way, I feel like it's a "dry" alternative to shaving but it's not much better because the hair grows back just as quickly (after a day). It worked the best for me on my upper lip and chin but would I buy more refills just for that? Maybe but I mostly wanted this for larger areas which wasn't as great for me. I might as well just use a cheap razor (even though I hate shaving) but shaving seemed quicker. Maybe this product might be ok for removing stubble on legs after a couple days from shaving or something, not sure. With this product, you have to rub gently in circled motions, sometimes it would take me a few seconds on some areas and on other areas it would take me a few minutes, overall it would only remove hair on the small spot that I was rubbing. I'm a very hairy person all over (hirsutism) and unfortunately I don't think this is going to be a good solution for me because my hand sort of got tired of rubbing and rubbing in circle motions just to remove small spots when a cheap razor can do better in less time. I can't imagine doing my whole legs, it would probably take me hours (with how much hair I have), the pad will probably lose it's effectiveness before I even finish a leg, I might as well just use a cheap razor instead. One of the WORST problems this product has is that the pad gets worn out in just a few uses! I tried to use every part of the pad but it gets easily worn out and then it becomes not as effective very very very quickly. Again, I hate to say this because I really hate razors but probably a cheap razor would do a better job because at least the cheap disposable razor keeps it's effectiveness more than a few uses. Also it might cause redness on the skin but for me, it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. The redness went away after a few minutes (razors give me similar redness anyway) I think these pads gave me less irritation than razors do. I still recommend you try this product out for yourself just for the sake of trying it and see if it works better for you. It does remove hair but you have to do it spot by spot by spot and it seems to take time (for the whole area) and a lot of circle motions (if you're doing a large area). I think this product is on-par with razors, like a "dry" alternative because you don't need water or anything else but it's too bad that the pad loses effectiveness very very quickly. I think I'll continue using this product for my upper lip and some other areas here and there once in a while.

I use to have the Smooth Away before (bought it at a store) but it didn't work. I guess the pads were too fine and weren't able to remove the hair from the skin on my face. So years later I decided to buy the product and try it again. This time it WORKED! The pads were much rougher and I was able to remove all of the hair at one time. I will never go back to using a facial trimmer and have to deal with the stubble I get each time and the hair starts growing back as I use the trimmer. The Smooth Away is much better, cleaner, faster and leaves my skin nice and soft. I don't have to worry about the stubble anymore and I use it every other day. The more I use it, the better will be. Less hair will start coming in as I continue to use it. The shipping was GREAT! It got here on time to my house and when I opened the package, the box was a little bent in, but it wasn't that bad. I read the instructions really good and I can't see how everyone else would have so many problems with the product. Cause I didn't at all. I would RECOMMEND this product to my friends and family. I'm so happy that I decided to go back and use this again.

I was looking for a easy way of removing hair. I was using epilater which is good but painful. One of my friend suggested me to buy this product and try it out. When I used it for the first time it felt good, only after few rubs the skin became smooth. But when I checked my skin the next day, it was like thorns were implanted on me. This product should be used only if you are in a hurry and want it for one day. Get your skin waxed/epilated the next day after using this product. Also, the smoothening pad can be used only once and is not meant for multiple uses.

I love this product! I have been using it for over 3 years. I am middle eastern/ european and I use this on my arms. I have dark arm hair and I am pale white. It leaves my skin smooth and completely hairless. If you use the item correctly then yes it does work and it does not irritate your skin. I do clockwise and counterclockwise and you have to press down hard enough. I have never tried to use it on any other body part so I would not know how well it works but it works wonders for my arms!
