This series works, if you work it.
Game Changer. Chemistry Essentials + Chemistry + Chemistry Workbook (all “Dummies” series) took me from a struggling C student to being able to understand and master the abstract concepts of higher mathematics and sciences (I’ve done the same to prepare for Calculus and I’ve already scored my first A on a quiz in a Calc class /ever/. Having auditory processing issues and ADHD, being able to go back and review vital formulas, concept explanations, and step by step instructions is crucial - it seems so obvious that I was struggling before, relying on whatever notes I could just manage to copy in the 80 min class. I can’t recommend these books enough to anybody going back to school or jumping back into a class after a semester off — you don’t realize until it’s too late that you forget math very quickly without practice & repetition. “Dummies” really has it all!

Calculus for Dummies
I have downloaded a number of samples from the various Calculus books offered on Kindle, hoping to refresh my knowledge of Calculus. I took Calculus in college and did very well in it, but never understood what I was doing. That may sound strange, but I was able to conquer the abstract motions of solving problems without having a clue why and was able to get all "A"s through all of differentiation and integration problems. I wanted to finally find a book that could explain simply what all those exercise were about. This book does it nicely. None of the other Calculus books came close to explaining it in simple words with diagrams that made sense. I just wish it didn't call itself Calculus for Dummies. I don't think I am a dummy!?!

" The "Calculus Essentials" and other essential books "For Dummies" are stacked neatly for easy access. Apparently his room mate
My son attends one of the US Service Academies... He has used this book to help crystalize what he knows and fill in a few gaps. So far he reports having "aced" all his quizzes. We have yet to see how he does on his final, but if the quizzes are any indicator, he is on the right track. He sent me a photo of his desk on which he has a place for all his "Frequently used Reference Books." The "Calculus Essentials" and other essential books "For Dummies" are stacked neatly for easy access. Apparently his room mate uses them regularly, as well. Thanks for creating these books and making the shipping so easy.

Excellent, crisp, to the point, no fluff, Calculus review text.
This is a great text for someone who has already had Calculus or as a review text for someone who is CURRENTLY taking a Calculus course. The writing is crisp and to the point without the baloney found in many of the modern glitzy tomes. I use it often to brush up on concepts that have long faded away. My suggestion would be to use this text as review material ALONG WITH a full fledged textbook like "Technical Calculus With Analytic Geometry" by Gersting.

Everything you always wanted to know about Calculus but were afraid to ask
I'm very happy to find this e-book for my kindle. I always liked math before but could not understand it deep enough. This book is well written, easily readable, clear for everyone who just started to work with differentiation and integration and other higher level math stuff or at least interested in it. The only disappointing part is the quality of the images. The drawings, charts, pictures are stored in a very low resolution format, and if a text is also part of the image it cannot be read easily you have to refer to the explanatory text around it.So if you want to know what is calculus, differentiation, integration, function analysis this book is a good way to start.

I love this book
I am a mathematics enthusiast and read many different books on calculus for pleasure. I was surprised at the ease of explanations of the subjects in this book. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to students and others seeking to have a grab of the subject in short period of time. This is the best $9 you spend and well worth it.

This book was really helpful for me. I am taking Differential Equations right now and my Calculus I and II skills had gotten rusty. If you have already taken Calc I and II then this book will help you blow through what you have already learned, quickly. I would also recommend this to anyone who has yet to take Calc I or II. This book breaks things down into simple, human terms. I bought other Calculus for Dummy books and I am sure they are good too, but this thing gets you up to speed much faster. Hope this helps.

Great book. Definitely a 'for dummies' book with clear explanations. I'm learning a lot about Calculus!
I bought this book because though I have done calculus before, I wanted an in depth understanding and a clear structured approach as in the past it wasn't explained to me in terms of why calculus exists and what its for. This book is very good at explaining the concepts in an easy and simple way.I really like this book, and I feel like the author stays true to the 'for dummies' concept. You can gain a real insight into calculus, and what it means, how it is used etc without being intimidated by scary maths. Whenever the maths gets difficult, it is broken down and thoroughly described. The book has some nice pictures/drawings in there too so it keeps it light and fun.

It does what it says on the box.
I took A level maths and further maths many years ago and I needed a quick refresher to help with a friends daughters homework. This did the trick. I loved the explanitary style and the fairly informal aproach. The author obviously thinks in a way similar to me, and this made the learning and recal all the more effective. Good value, good book.

Helpful
Needed a brush up on differentiation before my Microeconomics exam. This helped! However, alot of irrelevant stuff for me though as I study economics, not maths.
