The Crossing

Like their previous effort Treasure, David Helpling and Jon Jenkins have produced a fine follow-up of an album. The Crossing has a variety of songs and tempos. Some are atmospheric or ethereal and others are quite upbeat, but they all fit together nicely. In the fashion of the late Richard Burmer, who wrote some amazing electronic music in his time, the synth melodies on The Crossing are crafted and blended in a memorable and meaningful way. You can tell that a lot of effort has gone into this album. I love the way these guys mix guitar and electronic music. It is very unique. With its multi-layered melodies, my favorite track would have to be, "From The Smallest Seed."

I have all his and Helpings CD and you can not go wrong hearing this stuff through a High-End Audio System. It blows you mind, by LISTENING not with VOLUME TURNED UP like some folks do. Try it with a quite evening with friends BACKGROUND stuff. The right way !

This has to be one of the best ambient albums to date. Some of the nicest new age music I'veheard in a while. Every song has real quality. Not just another attempt at instrumental new age music. This stuff is really good. Has the quality of Isham and O'Hearn. Any ambient fan should add this one to their collection.

As other reviewers have noted, this is wonderful, soaring electronic music worthy of your attention. My complaint is the percussion intrudes from time to time and demands that attention. You can't drift off with this one, as you can with so many other ambient works. The crashing drums intrude.If you meditate, you know there is nothing wrong with music that enfolds you and lets your mind go where it will. The Crossing is not that kind of music. Still it is worthy art and most enjoyable listening.

This is a great album for ambient electronic music fans. The Crossing is a calming soundtrack for your daily activities.Many thanks to David Helping and Jon Jenkins for this fantastic album!

First experience with the artists! It's a knockout!

Beautiful piece, fine fussion going from slow motion to intense rithms. This work offers listener sensations such as relaxation, traveling elsewhere... and awakes emotions from deep inside. Wow!!

個人的には前作「Treasure」の方がより滑らかで睡眠前などの気分をリラックスさせる効果が絶大だったと思いますが、本作もリラックスしたいときに向いているニューエイジ系のambientなサウンドです。
