Quit Working after 2 moths
Bought two of these enclosures. Now the drive on one will not mount on my Mac. FortunatelyI used the other enclosure to test out the drive itself and it mounted. I've had this enclosure two months and it already crapped out! Now it's too late to return to Amazon, and I am just waiting for the other one to die. You've been warned before you buy!!!UPDATE: The company contacted me following my rating and replaced my broken enclosure. Took a while, but happy to have a working device. Been using the one that remained working for a while now, and I love it. Updating rating to 4 stars, even though it's really 4.5.

Fast Read but Not as Advertised Write using Recommended WD Series NVME
1st, build quality is good. It's a nice aluminum as advertised. 2nd, packaging is pretty typical. Comes with a nice pouch for cable and drive. That's a nice touch.3rd, Unfortunately, though the drive is fast to Read it is NOT as fast as the company claims to Write. WD NVME SN750 was used in the TEKQ housing. If management can reply... I will be more than happy to do what is required. Would be great to support a small Taiwan cmpany. I even bought a new Thunderbolt 3 cable thinking maybe it was the cable at fault.Firmware update needed? I am using a 2017 iMac 27-inch i7 4.2GHz with maxed out RAM

Good build quality and speed
This is an excellent TB3 case for M.2 SSDs. It is faster than OWC's or Nekteck's cases. Like all of these cases, it gets hot under sustained read/write, but you can mitigate that by training a (USB) fan on it. Taking it apart to install an M.2 only involves loosening four screws. It's not possible to use this directly with a TB2 computer even with a TB2 to TB3 adapter. However, it is possible if you go through a TB3 hub like the CalDigit TS3 Plus (ASIN B07CZPV8DF), and of course a TB2 to TB3 adapter like Apple's (ASIN B01MQ26QIY).

Meet the new FASTER Startup Drive for my 2017 27" iMac
My 27" 2017 iMac has been slowing down, especially as I've filled up my 4TD Fusion Drive with 3TB of data, mostly pics. While the new 24" M Processor iMacs called, I'm holding out for a larger screened version II. I slipped a 4TB memory NvMD memory stick in my Thunderbolt 3 TEKQ Enclosure, formatted it, added a new Mac OS system and then transferred over 3TB of data on to it (about 12 hours). I now use it as an external start-up with almost no lag. Write scores are consistently over 1600 Mbs and Read scores over 2000 Mbs.

Even Idling is hot. Not as fast as advertised even using SN750
I love the fact that it is made in Taiwan and I expected it is better than made in China ones. But I am disappointed that by just installing a brand new SN750 500GB and sit idling without any file on it, it is still so hot that you cannot rest your finger on it more than 2 sec. This makes connecting it on dock by default not an option as it definitely wasting lots of energy. I don't know if other housing is better though.Writing speed (connecting directly to a M1 MBA) isn't really too bad but not as fast as the advertsied speed though they are using 2TB in their case.

Small, durable, Thunderbolt3!
The enclosure holds an M.2 SSD and transmits using a thunderbolt3 cable. If you have a thunderbolt3 port on you PC, this is very nearly as fast as plugging the drive directly into your motherboard. I got this because I didn't want to disassemble my laptop to install my M.2. I have the drive Velcro'd to the back of my laptop lid. The drive gets very very hot, but the Velcro strip keeps it over 1/4th and inch from the lid to dissipate heat.

Fast
Early result: Fast. Tested on Dell Precision 5540 i7. SSD put into the enclosure was Seagate Firecuda 520 500GB. There may be an issue with the enclosure dropping if handled while attached. Will continue testing to see.

fast small SSD enclosure for thunderbolt
nice alu case, using 4 screws rather then 2 and some hinge mechanism. SSD's are not cheap. but for now a 2TB is a decent amount and speed is very decent

Great built quality - speed is not what I expect
I like the build quality, it is well made. I am running it on 2018 Mac mini with Catalina installed I am getting 2600mb/s read and 1200mb/s write. Not sure why I tried everything but it still does the job

Won't stay connected to M1 Mac Mini or Macbook Pro
The enclosure will disconnect after a few minutes. This happens under load (test copy of about 1T of files) and while idling (just connected but not doing anything on Mac). I've turned off all sleep/hibernation settings and I've tested with different NVMe SSD's and a different Thunderbolt 3 cables. All fail.Had to go buy an actual Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable and that seems to work.

Small and Fast
Best external device yet. Needed it for external boot on my M1 MacMini. This thing was super easy to install the memory stick into and it boots great. Can't even notice a difference booted from internal or external T3. Worth the extra cost.
