GoodCook Everyday 3qt Colander

I'm going to live in a dorm soon and I needed an easy, not expensive strainer. My friend's mom owns one similar to this that I always use and it inspired me to get one for myself!Total value for the price! It was important to me to find a BPA free (which it says on the packaging) and durable plastic cylinder that could withstand the heat & not melt and not cost me a ton of money. It's lightweight, has a nice little handle to hold (although you can place it directly in the sink as well) and has the perfect hole size for me! I absolutely hate strainers with too small holes that things constantly get stuck and too big that noodles fall through. This works great and cost a few dollars! Its everything I wanted! Easy to clean and very sturdy!

Overall this is awesome, but not for everyday macaroni, or other small foods. Most of the holes are too large. I been compensating by using an unbleached coffee filter that I punch holes in so the water can drain faster. Its not an ideal solution, but its better than nothing... I had read several reviews stating the quality was great but the holes were to big. I bought it knowing that. I don't need it often. Maybe once a month so I will just deal with it. The price was right so overall its not a bad deal.

Holes are large so small pasta with go through. Good sturdy strainer will get lots of use.

First off, i like this colander. It’s sized right and is a single blow-molded piece of hard plastic. Should last a good while. For my purposes, however, for use as a pasta strainer, as others have said the drain holes are too big for stick-type pastas. Inevitably several wriggle through and down the drain. Not a deal-killer at under 3 bucks - but laughably I was replacing a steel colander with too small holes that made it a drag to clean. So… I will keep this plastic one til i get frustrated enough to actually go to a store to buy what I want. Would make a great beach toy/sand strainer and useful in the garden as well. Kitchen? Meh.

The colander is big. It looks a little silly to strain pasta for one or two people in it because it is so large. In fact, it doesn’t fit into the deep large drawer that I kept my previous colander in, this has to be stored in a cupboard beneath the counter. It is made of thick plastic and should last for a very long time. The drain holes are large which makes it easier to clean, starch from pasta doesn’t clog the holes and some may think the holes are a bit too big where thin pasta falls through but I haven’t had that problem.

It is great for sifting cereals to get the smaller pieces out.

Love the colour. Shipped as promised! Excellent quality, ordered two, one for home, the other for the cottage! No extra duty or delivery charges @ the door from courier since it was coming from the U. S. to Canada!

It's not that big but strains fine. Cheap plastic but I guess for the price that's what you would expect. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
