Essential for Anyone Managing Their OWN Money
Yes, this is a textbook for those studying to become an advisor in the management of other people's money. But if you want to manage your own money, you MUST buy this book.As others have pointed out, this book covers the landscape of wealth management--investing, insurance, estate planning, and more--and it will often do so in a few paragraphs when a thorough discussion would require volumes. And when you find something you really have questions about, you will go elsewhere for more. But this isn't just a catalog of what you need to know. There are specific recommendations here, with the math to support them. Within 30 minutes of opening this book, I found advice that not only paid for this book, but for every book--financial and otherwise--I have ever bought (were talking thousands of volumes here, by the way). This book is not for the neophyte. But for those who have educated themselves beyond the basics and want to be sure they haven't missed something in their self education, this is a great way to make sure you have all the bases covered.

Good overview of lots of topics, not much depth
This is a textbook for financial planners so it has a plethora of topics. The topics all have good descriptions and examples and after reading you will have a solid basic understanding of them. However, there is not a lot of depth. As another reviewer stated, this is good for understanding what you need to know but if you want more details on the topic you will likely need to go to another source. For someone who has been a DYI handling our finances for decades and preparing for retirement, there was very little I hadn't seen already. It's a great resource for those needing knowledge of what to consider. I can see how this would be a great textbook (5 stars from that point of view). However, for depth in any topic you will need to supplement the "Complete" book.

school textbook
bought this for school MBA class and learned a lot. I bought this ebook and dowloaded to the kindle appp... was hesitant at first as I tend to be old school and prefer a paper book to write notes in but really enjoyed the experience via kindle app. I also like the ability to search for key words which became super helpful
