I ordered this cone because my dog had a hot spot on his face and I needed to keep him from scratching and the DIY ones weren’t big enough to keep him from scratching. I ordered this specific one because it was soft and semi see through and seemed to be a better material than just rolled up towels/blankets. I was disappointed in how flimsy the cone is. It’s essentially canvas material with plastic see through sections patterned on it with no stiffness or structure. It just falls around my dogs face and droops. While I’m sure it’s more comfortable than some other options, it’s added a complication while trying to fix another. Because there’s no stiffness or structure to this “cone” it lays flat and sticks against his face and just lets moisture build on his hot spot. Basically making it worse because it’s not getting the air it needs. So for my dogs needs, this wasn’t a successful product. I’d say if your trying to keep your dog from biting or licking something on their body, it would work okay, but to keep them from scratching their face or head, this isn’t for you. Again, it’s the fact that picture makes it appear as if it holds a cone shape around the face when in fact... it just flops down and around and sticks to them. I’ve attached a photo to show.

The fundamental design is really nice. We used this product to keep our pit from scratching a spot in his ear. He could still eat and drink with it on and the clear panels gave him pretty good vision. However, it fell apart after 3 days. He'd scratch at it occasionally, but one good 10 seconds of solid scratching and it ripped. Duck tape will hopefully get us through the next couple of days that we need for his ear to heal up. If you have a dog that is smaller this product is probably going to fit your needs perfectly. If your dog goes through heavy duty rubber chew toys like crazy, this one will probably just be a temporary solution.

Complete waste of money. I needed a softer cone than what I purchased at vet after our dog was neutered. This was made of the same plastic material mixed with sections of softer fabric. It was destroyed in less than 48 hours. I’m now having to wait & watch to make sure what was ingested passes 😡 The neck measurement was right, but the length wasn’t as nearly as long as it should have been!

This is a GREAT e-collar for several reasons. It is easy to undo the Velcro and flip the collar back so my dog can take a break from it when I can watch her and make sure she isn’t tempted to lick the incision on her hind leg. That is something that is hard to do with “regular” e-collars as you have to pull them off the dogs head, then put them back on. Also, the collar gives just a little due to the fabric, so she can get through tight places without being stuck. The plastic is nice and see through also, so she is not nearly as confused and depressed that a lot of dogs will get wearing an e-collar. I have had many dogs that have needed one of these for one reason or another and this is absolutely the best one I have ever seen and used. 10 stars!! Update: I finally took this off of her and I must say this is a WONDERFUL e-collar. It made her recuperation from surgery easy for both of us. Worth every penny!! Don’t even think about getting a rigid collar when this one is available. Great product!

My English black lab wore this collar for two and a half weeks. It never tore. I usually took it off of her for walks which helped keep it clean and not get banged up on things like the concrete and etc. You can buy this if you have a rambunctious dog, but don’t leave them in the yard with a cone on. If you can’t stop your dog from licking, scratching or digging on a short walk while they are without the cone it’s not the cone that’s the problem. At first, I didn’t want the hassle of taking it off and putting it back on, but when I realized how dogs sniff Urine outside and she would roughly be putting her nose in pee which would make the cone filthy I realized it’s best to remove it for the walk.It worked because the sides were long enough to stop her from licking her crotch.She actually used the side panels to see and it stopped her from running into things.It was soft enough for her to sleep in. The last thing I wanted to do was give her a cone that makes her miserable at night so this was soft enough for her to still fall asleep, yay!

While my dog does not care to wear a cone, I think it is wonderful! I had been a bit wary of the look of the cones appearance at first, I am happy to report that I prefer the transparency as it gives my dog a chance of seeing what's around her on the sides. The construction seems sturdy and well-made so far. My dog can eat and drink just fine with it, and she can also go up stairs without any trouble from getting caught after the initial bump. I have not had to clean it yet so I don't really have an opinion on it however the material feels like it would clean easily.

This helped out so much with our pup. With the hard cone she kept running into things and knocking herself backwards. With this she was able to do her usual thing. She was even able to go in her crate (which made her feel more comfortable). The only downside is that it drouped at the top (between her ears). My husband kept referring to her as “the flying nun”😆 it held up after 3 weeks (when she was finally able to get stitches taken out). Would buy again.

I got this to keep my dog from biting stitches in her paw, and it has worked so far. She can walk around without bumping into things. She can still sleep on the couch and rest her head against the armrest which wasn't possible with the stiff plastic cone from the vet. She would run and hide when she saw me pick up the old cone, but she calmly lets me put this one on.
