UPDATE 8/24-2017 VERY HAPPY with this item.
SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED at all the negative reviews! Okay. It's been running for almost 5 days straight now. I just heard the pump. Topped it off with a little water due to evaporation & it's back to perfect. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Great, Simple, Quiet! I LITERALLY just received this. I opened the box of (4) parts that are simple enough for a 3 year old to figure out. They simply fit together. The pump has suction cup feet but they are unnecessary because the tubing holds the pump in place nicely. The pump is quiet as long as you fill it up with water to encapsulate the completely submerged vertically placed pump. It took me more time to take it out of the protective packaging than to actually put it together. No tools required. Took less than a minute on top of my work bench & I added water covering the pump, plugged it in... Added a little bit more water to compensate for what was going through the pump & top 3 tiers. Nice little trickle and cool modern classic style. Oh... I found the instructions in the pump box after I was already enjoying this fountain. There's not a "Lead Paint" warning decal, so I can assume it is safe for cats and small dogs to drink from as long as you make sure to replenish the clean water covering the top of the pump. I'm just tired of seeing unjust negative reviews unless they offer a solution to the Seller or Manufacturer to improve their quality. I would buy it again and it would make an excellent gift. Nice little trickle sound with pump adjusted to Full Plus Setting.

This is an awesome little tabletop fountain
This is an awesome little tabletop fountain. I would consider it right at the top of the size chart for tabletops, much bigger and it really belongs on the floor or outside. That said, it was very well packaged, easy to put together despite a lack of instructions, and the pump is very quiet regardless of whether it is on high or low or in between. It fits together watertight and does not splash water onto the table. My only complaint would be that it is too silent. There is no sound of water trickling, even on its lowest setting. We are going to pick up some small river rocks and put them it the water and see if that helps create some sound. The fountain is heavy, with a nice solid resin that resembles granite. Another improvement that could be made would be to have an external on/off switch beyond unplugging it.

Leaky fountain and inside is peeling off. Poor quality
This fountain splashes water everywhere and leaks from the 2 middle bowls. The inside of the bottom bowl started leaking a little over a month of having it. I have the fountain for 2 months and I wish I could return it because its poor quality and poor craftsmanship. The tiered bowl design is a nice ideal but this product is a fail. I would not recommend it.

sounds nice looks cheap
The water sound is nice, quieter than I'd like though, but nice. I was hoping it would help to drown out the freeway traffic noise more. I do not like the black speckled resin. It looks really cheap. The motor is loud until you find the sweet spot directly under the last bowl and really stick it to the bottom. Then it gets quieter than the water and is much more enjoyable. So if you find the motor loud, keep replacing it until you find the correct placement.

I spent quite a lot of time researching the best reviews and prices prior to purchasing this fountain
WARNING: Does not come with sufficient directions!I spent quite a lot of time researching the best reviews and prices prior to purchasing this fountain. It isn't just flimsy plastic and is a good size for a tabletop/ indoor fountain, so I think for its higher quality and weight, it is a fair price. Assembling the tiers was pretty straightforward. I was stumped when it came to hooking up the rest of the fountain, as the directions show the plug leading from an outlet to an 'appliance' and then to an 'aquarium tank'.Here's what you have to do:1) Fit the tiers together2) Connect the yellowish rubber tube to the nozzle on the black thing (this is the filter, by the way) and is SUPPOSED to go in the water (obviously, the plug cannot get wet, so make sure you make a drip loop, which is shown in the picture)3) The bottom of the filter should rest comfortably on the bottom of the lowest bowl on its suction cups4) Several reviews have mentioned that the rubber tube was too long. Mine was, so I cut it about 1/3 of an inch and then it was almost perfect)- see the second photo for assistance... No idea why it's upside down.5) Fill the fountain with at least enough water to cover the filter (I used a bit more than 2 large water bottles of filtered water- the bottle is shown in the 3rd photo)Pros- No splashing-Silent filter-Nice weight-Elegant design, more or lessCons- The sound isn't very loud, even if you adjust the lever on the filter to the maximum amount of flow-The only part of the fountain that I can hear is the sound between the 2nd and 3rd bowls.- Adding rocks did not help- The photo makes the sculpture look sleek and black, but mine has white specks spray painted all over it, which makes it look cheap- the first photo has a clear view of the speckles- The top tiers look wonky, but cannot be adjusted-As I write this, the filter is starting to get a bit loud, but sometimes you just have to adjust the placement of the filter, as it vibrates loudly when resting in certain areas (I think this is due to the fact that it doesn't fit perfectly with the rubber tube)
