i purchased this before reading the reviews but decided not to cancel. Most folks complained about the poor hinge design which came apart and allowed the half with the plate mounted to it to fall off and the license plate with it.I got it today and checked out the hinge first thing. Its not the hinge that's a problem but the length of the two Allen head bolts used to secure it. They are too short and only use 1 or 2 threads to secure. The solution is to use two longer bolts of the same thread size; or what i did was to replace the two short bolts with one long one that went through both pieces, some lock washers and a locking nut. (4mmx0.7x40mm)This will solve the issue --BTW - I paid almost 9 bucks (free PRIME shipping) for this on amazon because i needed it right away but you can get these on ebay for less than 4 bucks plus free shipping from china if you can wait two weeks to get it

got this 4 my son, he needed it for his motercycle. it worked perfect, hold the plate. it arrived on time.

Great quality product that is also affordable, couldnt recommend more, get a set of super magnets to hold the plate in place as the hinge doesnt lock

It holds it tight an keeps my license plate away from my back tire the screws really hold the heng tight

It's all right. I could have made it. You will have to tach weld it into the angle you want it at, as the wind movies it. I put a crap tone of threat locker in it and tightened it as much as possible.

Meh buy a solid bracket the hinge point is junk you tighten the screw the wind makes it loose lock tight won't help this chinsey rig.

For what it cost i would not buy again cheap made ......
