Gibson Gear IM57P-DB 57 Classic Plus Humbucker Pickup Double Black

i've got a slightly older ,(1981), gibson les paul standard that i felt needed a little boost in the treble or lead position, (which is the bridge pick-up.) i didn't want to dramatically change the sound, just make the signal hotter. this guitar is my main axe, and i was more than a little nervous about tampering with it in any way. i asked around and got some info from people i trust, and the classic plus was the one that they all recommended. i'm glad that i did it, my l.p. sounds as amazing as i hoped it would, and the old neck pick-up is still excellent for rhythm. it's just a fairly inexpensive way to give your prized guitar a nice tune- up.

much gainer than the 57 classic. still sounds really great and the seller was very responsive to questions and shipping was fast and secure. i put it in my epiphone lucille to get it to sound closer to my gibson lucille (which has the standard 57 classic) its got a MUCH brighter and higher output than the gibson but sounds worlds better than the epi pickups

This pickup was priced reasonably, at least for Gibson pickups. I have a set of regular '57's in another guitar but wanted something a bit different in this Les Paul. It sounds similar to the regular '57 bridge pickup, but obviously with a bit more hair on it. It still maintains clarity and smoothness with gain...and I use Orange amps with TONS of gain on tap. I recommend this pickup highly if you like to get overdriven distortion from your amp. If you want to get it from the guitar and risk losing some clarity, get a higher output pickup.

I installed the pickup in my fathers no name semi hollow 350.00 copy of a Gibson along with a Gretsch filter tron pickup to. This guitar is a great builders model. With this Classic 57 pickup installed, my brother owning a Les Paul Studio said our fathers guitar will give my brothers guitar a run for it's money.
