Review on Joni Eareckson Tada Swimming Against the Tide (Trailblazer series)
A true story about a teenage girl who dives and breaks her neck. her older sister rescues her and has somebody call. she is rushed in a ambulance to the ICU ( Intensive Care Unit) at the hospital. after a long time she finally realizes that she will never get the use of her hands again. she learns to write and paint by holding the pencil/ paintbrush with her mouth. I think it is a wonderfull book and a MUST read.

Another inspirational title from the Trailblazer series
I read Joni's story aloud to my children a few weeks ago. We were all deeply moved by her story. My eldest two girls (8 and 10) were particularly moved by Joni's journey from anger, denial, frustration and deep depression to the rejoicing woman of God that she is today. This book fueled many deep conversations about who God is and what He allows in our lives. Catherine did a great job of telling Joni's story through the voice of a typical teenager. She then gradually deepens the voice of Joni in spiritual maturity, whilst never quite letting go of the style so appropriate for young readers. I definitely recommend this book!

Unfortunately, the book was not so much about her life as I was hoping. It was filled with romance from cover to cover, and I was unable to read all of the book based on my personal views.
