My son gives two thumbs up and his seal of approval!
Bought this to put in my 12 year old sonβs Easter basket this year. He loves the strategic military type of games so I came across this figuring heβd like it. I was wrong, he LOVED it! ππ»ππ»12 year old recommended! ππ»ππ»

Nothing radically different so far from TD1
Just started playing TD2 and have only just completed the initial DC encounter. After exploring for a few hours yesterday, my first impressions are: And... so what's changed? I'm getting bored.Graphics are ok. though there are rendering issues with buildings whereby whole sections are missing, until you pan them into view/walk nearer to them, by which time the engine kicks in and fills in the missing bits. And, what's the word, near [distance rendering?] issues too whenever you look around...Slight changes to the game mechanics, different menus, but other than that....Ok, need to give TD2 more time as I've spent GBP70 on the Gold edition and so, for now, I'll give it 3/5.

Great when it works
I loved the first Division, and at its heart this is a great concept for a sequel. Moving down the coast into Washington DC seven months after the initial outbreak. And we get some new toys, similar free roaming game play, over a massive area. When the games working, it's a fun romp through the capital of America. However there's been a few issues. Firstly I bought the game end of November, and couldn't play for 3 weeks. Ubisoft had messed up the download leaving the game stuck at just over 55Gb. I wasn't the only one with this issue. But Ubisofts fault reporting is atrocious. Initially blaming me, my network, my console and anything else they could think of. Looking on the ubi forums I wasn't the only one. Then there's the occasional freezing of the game, usually at the most inconvenient time. The only cure I've found is shut down and unplug the xbox for 10 seconds. Then there's the screen resolution dropping way down. Everything loses detail and people look like mannequins. It's a shame because in 4k HDR it's a lovely looking environment to kill bad guys in.Finally those bad guys once or twice simply don't appear usually round tunnel entrances, just the over head markers. Yet they still kill you just as effectively. It's a shame because when it's working it is a really fun engrossing game. But it's bug ridden and not what you'd expect from a premium game.

Beautiful but unrealistic
After three hours of playing what is admittedly once again a beautiful and amazing render of a dystopian Washington D.C. I have decided to either take a break or just give up all together. I am old enough to remember the original Rainbow Six games. These were challenging and at least a solid attempt at introducing realism into gaming. Tom Clancy must be turning in his grave to see his name sell what are essentially arcade games. Siege was the first but at least offered fairly accurate game play aside from those lumbering armoured kamikaze terrorists. Wildlands although a tad repetitive in its side missions was a very good game with accurate ballistics (just don't mention the driving mechanics which were awful). The bad guys and girls of The Division 2 are in essence bullet sponges who quite often charge at you with the ardent faith of a brexiteer. Unfortunately for you that means in tight environments you end you often end up overwhelmed during a magazine change. Is it too much to ask for a bit of realism without wanting to sound crude if I shoot someone in the head with a high velocity 5,56 mm round they die not have their health drop a little more than normal. And it is an old gripe from The Division but why can't you crouch or go prone? Surely this is the second major flaw in the game. An elite special forces operator who can't for some reason lie down or crouch, really. If you enjoy arcade shooters buy it, if you enjoy teamplaying with your mates again buy it. But if you want something making a honest attempt at realism stick with Ghost Recon Wildlands or some of the earlier Tom Clancy games like Rouge Spear.

Wont install
I know the game is pretty good as i have played it on a ps4. I recently purchased an x box one x so decided to buy it again to play on the new machine.I have tried to install but it only gets to 97.3% before saying installation stopped. This is not a disc or console problem as i have checked online. The problem has been known since early November and people are still waiting for a fix from Ubisoft.Edit The game has now been fixed with an update from ubi soft.........Good Game

Better than 1
Being a massive fan of the original division and having hundreds of hours into that game I was expecting high things from this game but have been disappointed before.Well, I need not have worried, the game is as good if not better, there is enough difference from the first game to keep the biggest fans hooked. Once you get through to level 30 where the game really comes alive. There are minor bugs and flaws, but nothing that spoils the gameplay. The graphics are brilliant and I have had no major flaws or crashes. This is an outstanding game that can be played by just buying the base game or the gold pack which I would reckomend.Hope to see you on the flip side.
