Fennec Foxes: Wily Desert Hunters (the My Favorite Animals series)

This is a very interesting book about Fennec Foxes, an animal I have never heard of. The Fennec Fox is extremely cute with those large ears and small face and body. The ears help these animals hear underground animals that are digging, such as mice and will track them to catch them for dinner. They live in the desert and get most of there water from vegetation.The author, Claire Johnston, did a great job on this book. It is a children's book that I have now read to my grandchildren several times. They are younger but they understood the book as I read without any problems. The pictures are very clear and it is easy to see what the Fennec Fox really looks like. Great job by the author on both the writing and the pictures.The book is great for children and adults to enjoy together. It is both educational and fun. Again, a great job. Well worth the purchase price.

An excellent book for sharp young minds fascinated by the animal world and exotic, far off places. Although this is meant for beginning readers, it is not "dumbed down" . There are two or three big words ("unique", "sensitive", "domesticated') found within the clear and engaging text, so it would make sense to read it together the first time with a little one intimidated by reading alone.Also, fennec foxes are unlike other foxes or any other animal, so like a book on meerkats or pikas that opens up a child's world to a new species, it deserves a place in school libraries.Of course, the adorable pictures will win over hearts, too. So combine this with a plush toy, and you have a terrific gift.

This book is full of facts about this rare animal. My grandson has been searching for facts to make a report. This will definitely help him.

This is an incredible book about Fennec Foxes! I love to read books about animals and learn the various facts about them. This book offers great information about this beautiful animal that I would otherwise not have known. It is a great book for kids and adults alike as the photographs are stunning and the content is very interesting. This is a book that anyone could benefit from.

I noticed in several of the other reviews I read for this book (before I purchased it) that the word "adorable" kept coming up--and that's EXACTLY what these creatures are, and this book IS--ADORABLE!! They look like a cross between a sweet little kitten and a cute chihuahua puppy! The kids are going to LOVE this book! Bravo to author Clare Johnston--I loved this book!

This books is a great introduction to the adorable fennec fox. I didn't really know much about these animals before I read the book, and so it was very interesting to read all about how they are built especially for desert living, and how they differ from regular foxes. Filled with lots of very cute photos, young children will love to read about the fennec fox.

Lovely book for young readers interested in wildlife. I paired this book with the Aurora World Miyoni Fennec Fox Plush as a gift for a little guy and hope it'll pique his interest in desert creatures.

This is a very informative book for the 7-8 year old. The pictures are great and add to my grand-daughter's enjoyment of learning about different kinds of foxes. I also enjoy this book and would highly recommend it. Jackie
