Giant Size Amp Meter, Excellent Quality
This meter is big, no wonder it comes with a plastic carrying case. An excellent quality tool, but I turned around and ordered a smaller one the following week, and the smaller one is the one that I prefer to carry with me. I will use it occasionally as needed for giant wires. Great for looking at whole house current draw, automotive amp draw, or for field work checking total station amp draw. I would buy it again, but I didn't realize how big it actually is.

Much to love, but has a calibration issue on AC amp reading.
UPDATE: 1-20-15 First I want to say that the gentleman that sells these is A#1 and deserves five stars for his effort to correct the issue on this meter including taking it back and even sending me my extra leads I left in the case back to me. Unfortunately the meter was needing to be calibrated and so I sent it back.So on that note I thought I would give a few thoughts about the meter itself.Truthfully the meter is nice but it was much larger than most I have used and that made it hard to get into tight places when working on motorhomes as I do. And that is the reason I did not order another one. But on the plus side the meter is a very nice tool. It's buttons are very well laid out and it had a very nice back light. I did not like the leads that came with the meter because they stuck out of the meter about a 1/4" farther and did not seat flush. The display is big and clear and easy to read. Over all a very nice meter. I just wish it was not quite as large. Don't get me wrong, it's not huge. But it is about a 1/3rd larger than the Mastech I purchased first and the Amprobe I purchased after it. If I did not need it for getting into tight places it would have worked fine other than the problem described below. Hopefully the problem I ran into was a one time thing. Stuff like this happens. Over all a nice quality meter. Now back to the original review. To be clear I would like to give this meter five stars but the sad part is that I sent the last one back "Mastech MS2108" for the very same reason. When showing a reading for AC amps (NOT DC AMPS) and before clamping a wire I always get 3/10ths of a amp reading on the meter. There seams to be no way to fix this. Maybe it's the electronics or something in these more affordable meters. I finally found the web site for Sinometer and sent them an email to see if they have the recalibration papers for it. There are 10 calibrations inside but they are not marked. UPDATE: (They would not give me the calibrations for this meter) So with the exception of that, lets talk about the rest of the meter. Size, it's bigger than it looks but not so big it might be cumbersome. I like that fact that someone finally figured out that the back light button needed to be on it's own instead of a multi-use button. The Mastech MS2108 I sent back combined the light button with the manual reading button. I mean seriously? So every time I hit the back light button it would automatically go to manual reading instead of auto. So then I would have to push it twice to get it back to Auto. Total fail. With the Sinometer I like the button layout and the Sinometer in general. The clamp is much larger than most and if you had to get into some tight spaces with lots of wires you might have some trouble. The nice thing I like is that the clamp opens wide. The Mastech was much smaller and I could barely get the clamp around a 4/0 cable. I work in the Solar RV industry and it is a must that I can clamp these bigger wires. With the Sinometer that is no problem at all. If I had one thing I would see them change, it is the dial. Instead of leaving the nubs across the whole side of the wheel they only put them half way. So if you are changing the measurement from AC current to say DC volts and you move the dial from the back you get the nice grip nubs. If you try the same thing from the front of the dial it is smooth as butter. Not a super big deal but it is noticeable. Also as a side note and for me a plus, when going into the Volts reading, it starts in DC reading and not AC. This is just one more step I don't have to make when using this meter since I use this for DC measurement more than AC. Now the Display, besides the dedicated back light button, this is the reason I bought this meter. It is large and very easy to read and the back light is smooth and lights up the whole display. Much better than the Mastech where you had bright spots from the lights being so close to the edge. It also comes with a very nice case that has some spots you can remove for other things like extra probes and such. It has a nice protected feel to it and will keep the meter in nice shape for some time to come. Over all I think it is a nice meter and after a couple of days the size no longer bothered me. Hopefully this will help you make a good decision on your purchase. With the exception of the above issue the meter was fully functional and did the job I purchased it for.

Be leary of the product tech support. I asked if the 207A provided the power factor. There response was that you had to calculate it. But without a breakdown of real and reactive power, the PF can't be calculated. According to the Spces, the 207A doesn't provide any power readings, and certainly with no indication of real power or the I-V phase angle.
