Great book!!
The 3 stars posted for this book aren't fair! The book is loaded with concept art, live pictures from behind the scenes and lengthy text to follow! Packaged in the tight plastic wrap to keep it safe. We love collecting "the art of..." books. This is the 4th one in the house between my 3 teenagers. I will continue to buy them for birthdays and Christmas well into adult hood. My daughter loves the spiderman one with Tom Holands face on the cover! Ha! This one was for my 13 year old son who is obsessed with anything disney, Aladdin and Lion king live action are at the top of the list. And this is perfect! Thank you to the authors!!

Good Behind the Scenes Info on the production
There are many concept art shots, close ups of the costumes from various angles and a very nice section where Alan Menken discusses the changes to the music from the original. It had everything I was interested in learning.

One of the BEST "Making of Books" EVER!!
I'm so happy with my purchase!! As a kid I grew-up loving the original Disney animated classic "Aladdin" and now as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed the new live-action movie...Yet, it was this book that really helped me understand why they made the decisions they did with this movie. It's filled to overflowing with behind the scenes pictures, character descriptions, cast interactions and visual effects, with a great introduction by Guy Ritchie! This is one of the better purchases I've made for these kind of books (and is a million times better then the stupid Disney "The Art of Star Wars" books)... Overall, this is hands-down, one of the BEST "Making of Books" I've ever Purchased!! 5 STARS!!

Good book
Good book about the making of the movie, from the sets to the final music, i wish it had more concept or unused concepts from the movie. Check my video review @vicesan

A worthwhile companion to Aladdin.
A thorough look at what went into making the movie. I especially appreciated the conceptual art and information about the visual styling of Agrabah, the costumes and the dance production numbers. I read the book before seeing the movie, and it was fascinating to revisit it after seeing the movie to fully understand the director’s vision in context.

Not Enough Art or Content.
I was hoping this book would be an exhaustive look at the production design of the live action Aladdin film and feature a lot of concept art from early sketches to final paintings, like the outstanding "Art of" books for the latest Star Wars films. This book is nothing like those. A large portion of this fairly thin book (155p) are populated with production photos of actors in costume or sets. There are some decent concept paintings throughout, but without much description and little of the progressive visual development of things of what should be a visually resplendent movie. For example, there is not one piece of concept art for the Genie in the book, just 3-4 production stills. So we learn nothing of early ideas for the Genie and how the ideas for the character progressed through art. That's nuts.Since I'm interested in production design, I felt this book had way too much fluff (light narrative and production stills) and not enough artwork. If I had known, I wouldn't have paid pre-sale price for the book. It's not terrible, but not nearly as good as an Aladdin "art of" book should have easily been.
