Does what it says, easy assembly
I bought this foundation to replace an aging foundation that had stared sagging and creaking when weight was put on it. I live one state over from the distributor, so I received it the day after it shipped, less than a week after ordering. It comes in a tall (about 6.5 ft) box that weighs about 55 lbs, so while it's a little awkward, one person can move it. The outer wood box pieces are partially assembled, so that you only have to join the head and foot pieces to the side and middle pieces with dowels (already in place) and bolts. One person can assemble this with little difficulty. The top slats, which are spaced and held to each other with canvas ribbon, are rolled out on top of the assembled box and fastened with six screws. The foundation comes with all hardware necessary for assembly. The package also includes an appropriately sized wrench, though a ratchet with a 1/2 bolt will speed up assembly. The six screws that hold the top slats to the foundation box secure three of the slats, but if like me you don't want the rest of the slats loose, you can secure them to the box with double-sided mounting tape (the kind with padding between the adhesive layers). The cover is a custom-sized ticking that slips over the top side of the box and tightens with a drawstring with a plastic locking ball, like you'd find on a laundry bag. Overall, easy assembly, the quality is comparable to the old box foundation I had (which lasted nine years), and now my bed doesn't screech when I get in it. Just what I had in mind.

Was shocked at the poor quality and bought for a heavy person because bought their 12 inch Dynasty Mattress New Cool Breeze mattress cause read good reviews on it for heavy person. That has not come in yet. Again was stunned when saw the quality of wood, some looked cracked and splintered, so don't expect it to last very long. Luckily got a very good base Zinus 14 inch height frame. Also the height on box spring was high so not certain how long will use or will last due to wood quality. Would not recommend it!!! Also takes more then 10 minutes to put together. Not hard but total misrepresentation saying ten minutes.

Ever assembled a bridge before?
They must have changed this product in the last few months. Maybe seven months ago it was much better than pictured, but now it is certainly low quality. I didnt expect the quality of a piano, but I expected better than this. The wood pieces looked like the trusses for a bridge, and it was quite difficult to put together properly. The only extra touch was that the corners were rounded, so you don't snag anything. I used a hammer to force the corners in (dont forget the middle lengthwise truss during the initial assembly -- it does NOT slip into a slot later, as mentioned in one of the other reviews. I did have the full size, which may be different from the queen). I also used glue so it wouldnt squeak later, and I nailed each slat because they were not straight and would have shifted. But when all was said and done it cost half as much as a real one, it does support the mattress, and will be covered by the bedspread. There is a cloth cover, so the wood isnt actually exposed to view.

Great Foundation, but needed a little extra assembly
So I bought this foundation for my memory foam mattress because of the price and the free two-day shipping included with the Prime membership. Here are the bullet points:The box: this package was awkwardly long and skinny and quite heavy. I could push the package into the house but if you have any steps to go up or down, use two people. The quality: The wood is okay, I wasn't too worried because the finished product was quite sturdy. It's just very easy to get a splinter, so be careful during assembly. The assembly: Really easy to put together! Took me and my friend 30 minutes to finish it. It comes with quality screws/bolts and even comes with a wrench to turn the bolts! One thing that irks me is the fact that MY particular set of panels didn't come with big enough holes to put the four rubber "things" that hold the corners of the slats together. So i had to use a power drill to drill the six total screws in. But all in all, it was pretty easy! I might have just gotten a defective slat set.The cover: it's just a cover. nothing special. I'm not picky about what it looks like because my comforter will cover it up.All in all: its a great, sturdy do-it-yourself bed foundation!

A quiet and sturdy springless boxspring.
Okay, so it's a foundation. Why bother with a boxspring? This one doesn't squeak. Seems to be made of pine wood. The holes lined up well enough. The instructions were a little terse but I'm good at putting things together so it was not a problem for me. Like another reviewer, I screwed down all the other seven or eight slats at the edges. I put thin weather strip sticky back foam down the middle of the support behind the slats so they wouldn't make much noise should they slap against the middle support when I jump onto the mattress. Took about 30 minutes to assemble at a leisure pace. It comes in a pretty long box, the length of the side supports so it's taller than I at 68". Mine was a full size foundation. The box is about 12" square at the other two dimensions. The cover is decent quality, fits well, and looks okay. I just put a fitted sheet over it to make it look nicer. Very happy with it. Better than a traditional boxspring.

Looks like the picture and works as advertised
I've read that some of these come warped or with some sort of defects. I didn't have any at all. I put it together easily without directions. It's childsplay and i'm not handy at all around the house.j Seriously, you remember those hammer the shapes in the right slot toys? It's that simple! It's sturdy and holds up great. I'm looking to buy a Cal King next!

Terrible quality
The wood on the one we bought was covered in splinters, so we had to sand it. The staples that parts of it were held together with stuck out and we had to hammer them in properly ourselves so they wouldn't scrape our hardwood floors. The guide holes were off so badly that when this thing was assembled that the appearance was laughable. I had to add shims in two places so the thing wouldn't wobble or break when someone put weight on it since load bearing parts were not touching the floor.
