I think this is a very nice blend of food for the parrots, many nuts and fruits and pellets to keep our feathered "bosses" occupied and happy and healthy.The food was very fresh and at a really decent price for the size, and I like that it's more reasonable than the pet store where they have the bins and sell by weight, not to mention the freshness and variety of contents, again, compared to what I can buy locally.Also, have purchased infested food-yes gross!-from the pet store, so I now rely on good bagged feed , and it addresses all the parrots food and entertainment & nutritional needs with no further concerns.Yes, supplementing the dry food with fresh fruits & veggies, too.My parrot, Lois Lane loves to pick and choose her day to day favorites from this varied assorted blend from Kaytee.We are happy with this, would buy again and good on all counts of convenient size, quality you can see and smell because it's so fresh and a good deal, too!

Bought for my Greater Sulfer Crested Cockatoo 33yrs young. I've owned him since he was three and have lived all over the US so I've been purchasing seed in one form or another for 30yrs. Quality has always been my greatest concern next to price. Finding a quality product at a fair price has always been a challenge. The store I had been purchasing my seed mixture for some time was out. I went to a pet store close by that I had purchased seed in the past, until it became too expensive. They had the above mixture. Was expensive but since it was a one time purchase I bought it. I was pleased with the quality so I went online and found it on amazon. Half the price as the local store and I'm able to setup an automatic shipping schedule. Now I'm actually saving a few dollars over the seed I had been purchasing and I no longer need to have it on my shopping list. I get a months worth of seed delivered each month to my house. Really happy about that. Did I mention the quality of the seed is really good. A good selection of large and small seed. Many seed mixes I've purchased in the past have too much small seed. This is a good mix. I would recommend this for medium to large birds.

This is a good food source for large birds. However, I agree with the other reviews that it does always contain moth larva, I buy the larger 25lb bags and store them in my large freezer. I know Kaytee advises not to do that, but it keeps the food fresh and stops the moth problem. I take about a weeks worth out of the freezer at a time and keep it in an airtight container. My Blue and Gold Macaw agrees with your birds, she says the Monkey Chow is not food and should be thrown on the floor or in her water dish, which really makes the water YUK. Wish Kaytee would stop using it for filler.

Bird eats 1/2 throws the rest on the floor

Used to be seeds and nuts. Now its half millet and filler. Unfortunately, most major brands are resorting to this cheat. Maybe they would like the vet bills.

I love this food I order it over for my macaw when he knows I'm putting it in his dish he runs over. Thank you!
