Citristrip Paint & Varnish Stripping Gel – Citrus Scent (1 Quart)
The Citristrip Paint & Varnish Stripping Gel is a popular choice for DIYers and professionals looking for an effective and safer way to remove old paint, varnish, or lacquer from wood, metal, and masonry surfaces. What sets it apart is its citrus scent and low fume formula, making it more pleasant to work with indoors compared to traditional harsh strippers. This gel formula clings well to surfaces, allowing it to stay in place longer and penetrate multiple layers of finish. It works best when left on for several hours or even overnight, depending on the project. The product is also thick enough to apply easily with a brush and doesn’t run or drip much.Pros:• No harsh fumes — great for indoor use• Pleasant citrus scent• Effective on multiple layers of paint/varnish• Gel consistency clings to surfaces wellCons:• Requires longer wait time for deep stripping• May need more than one application for thick or old coatingsRating: 4.6/5

It works well, if you follow instructions
I am currently doing a project with an ancient dresser (estimated to be a century old, judging from the old locks), and needed to be stripped. I bought this to solve the stripping issue without spending money and time on my sander. After having stripped the drawers, I think I can honestly give the review.Pros:- It's fantastic at removing the paint, if you follow the instructions. Apply liberally, wait at least 30 minutes, and the paint can mostly just be wiped off. I used a paint scraper and it slid like it was on ice, and the paint came off. It was like a squeegee removing mud off a windshield.- It is nice smelling, like oranges. I'm doing this inside, so that's a major plus.- it works even on old paint, and the result makes it easy to see it worked.Cons:- You may have to apply more than one coat to get rid of tougher spots. I had this issue, but a simple reapply works. Minor inconvenience.- It can be quite messy. Make sure to put plastic or such under it, and wash your hands after, or better yet, wear gloves.- You might need a scouring brush, or similar to get off residue in cracks. At worst, keep a sander and dremel tool handy, but let it dry off.All in all, very satisfied, and hope this helps people who had issues. It works great, just be patient and let it do the job. In fact, I found I need more and ordered a second bottle.

Great product!
This paint remover works great. Paint on, leave for a few minutes, and scrape off with a plastic scraper. The product smells, but it is not overpowering. Highly recommend

THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS ON STUBBORN PAINT
The media could not be loaded. I took a chance on this, hoping it would remove heavy black paint on the back of an aquarium. I tried scraping with a blade and it just was too embedded to work. I thought maybe because it was painted on glass. It would be easy to scrape off but it was not the case. It was so thick and had been on the glass for a long time. Probably years. So I bought this product and applied it with a paint brush. It says it should start working in 30 minutes and may take up to 24 hours. This stuff, once applied began to curl and peel the paint off within a couple minutes! What I thought was going to take hours to do took only minutes!I think it's a great product! It covered the back side of a tank that was 20x48 in. I didn't use barely half of the 1 qt. jug. And I applied it very thickly. Also, what was a pleasant surprise was that I was able to wash off the brush with soap and water!Although the instructions do not say to wear a mask, I will say there is a distinctive effect that is noticeable during the application. Although I can't say my lungs burned, They did feel a little weird. The scent is very acrid. It comes out thick like pudding and is easily and generously applied in one stroke. I don't think you will be disappointed with how powerful this stuff is.It was worth it for me!

Horrible fumes!
Works ok but HORRIBLE fumes. Even wearing a mask and in open area it made me nauseous.

Overnight Under Plastic Works
The previous owner of our place installed a metal awning that was functionally sound, but when he painted the house neglected to use a tarp. The awning was covered in paint splatters, many thick, that had baked on over numerous summers. Even though outside I didn't want to handle a commercial grade super caustic stripper. Yes, they work faster, but I like to stay away from strong, fumy chemicals. ("Fumy" is a valid Scrabble word btw.)So I applied this stuff, and covered with a cheap plastic painting tarp overnight...like the directions mention. Next day, voila, the paint splatters scraped off like a hot knife through butter. Applied a fresh coat of paint and the awning looks like new.Bob in Seattle
