The Petzl GriGri is the most tried and true climbing belay device on the modern market. It's usable in most forms of climbing and makes it very easy even for beginners to learn good belay technique. Its widespread adoption speaks to its proven performance in real-world situations. The cam lock is smooth and grabs every time you need it to, but slides freely when you need to feed slack. The brake release lever is solid and very responsive, obviously important. The build quality is to a very high standard and my first one lasted me a very long time before I retired it just to be safe. (It still worked as intended). If you're looking for a trusty climbing companion that will catch you when you fall, GriGri is the way to go!

Climbing is a blast! And belaying a climber is a major skill needed for any type of climbing. Love my GriGri. It’s assisted braking is a nice upgrade, and it also gives a little added comfort to a nervous climber. Easy to use and sturdy. No issues. If not for the price, I’d probably get 2 or 3. (I have 3 ATC’s since they’re on the cheaper side) but a GriGri is a great purchase for any climber. Fun stuff.

Works perfectly for lead or top rope belay. Use it weekly and it is still in great shape 3 years later with no issues. Would buy again. No complaints. Came all the way from the Czech republic!

Non è intuitivo come un secchiello e c'è una curva di apprendimento per padroneggiare la tecnica corretta. Secondo, è decisamente più pesante rispetto ad altri assicuratori, dettaglio che a volte si fa sentire quando lo si porta in giro. In sintesi: Se cerchi la massima sicurezza e sei disposto a investire un po' di tempo per imparare a usarlo correttamente, il GriGri è un acquisto obbligato. È il punto di riferimento del settore. Assolutamente consigliato a tutti, dai principianti ai più esperti.

Ich nutze seit Jahren das Petzl Grigri und bin sehr zufrieden. Gerade bei großem Gewichtsunterschied bietet es viel Sicherheit. Es lässt sich mit etwas Übung umkompliziert bedienen.
