I ain't afraid of no Minimates.
I've been meaning to buy some of the Minimates figures for a long time now, but unfortunately, most of the ones I wanted to get are long gone! My daughter's into Ghostbusters at the moment, and when she saw these "Lego Ghostbusters", she had to have them. After checking these things out when she wasn't looking, you know what? These are pretty cool toys. Even being as little as they are, any kid or adult collector is sure to get a kick out of these. In this set you get the slimed version of Peter and the clear version of Slimer. Peter has a disgusted expression on his face and it looks great. He has green slime all over his jumpsuit, and comes with his Proton Pack, which has the gun portion that he can hold in one hand. He has pretty good articulation too, at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, head and legs. He even has little elbow pads that you have to move out of the way so you can bend his arms. I was surprised with how well they painted him, right down to the Ghostbusters patch on his sleeve. I know with these Minimates figures, you can mix and match parts with other Minimates. For example, you can take off Peter's hair and replace it with, say, Winston's. The only things to watch out for with him are the cord on the Proton Pack connecting to the gun part, since it's very thin plastic and could snap easily, and making sure that his limbs are all snapped in place so you don't lose anything. Finally, he comes with the laser stream for his gun so he can catch Slimer. I actually couldn't get mine to stay on the gun, but it's there! The clear Slimer looks great, and I'm glad they made a new sculpt for him instead of just slapping the face on a regular Minimates body. There's the outer 'shell' for Slimer, which makes up his body, and it slides onto a Minimates body with the arms and head (where the shell snaps onto from the inside). He also comes on a clear plastic stand so it makes him look like he's floating around. The body also has some food painted on it, making it looks like how he did in the movie when he took in plate after plate of goodies. No complaints here at all- Slimer looks fantastic, and this is my favorite version of him from the Minimates series. He also has articulated arms like Peter, but that's it for obvious reasons.Overall, these are really cool toys and I can't wait to buy my daughter, and myself, more! You can get a lot of good poses out of the basic Minimates body, and the different facial expressions in this Ghostbusters line makes for lots of display possibilities. The price is usually good too, provided you get these when they come out at retail, rather than paying inflated prices (hint hint). 'highly recommend these guys, and now I have to track down those Man With No Name ones...
