It has been several weeks now since I reported that one of the caster wheels was missing it's metal bolt, and I still have not received it.

It's very early to do a review so I will update as time passes, but my initial reaction is WOW! Myself and my family just love this! No more smelly, frustrating waste basket! This can is attractive, as far as trashcans go. Lol. It completely controls waste odor and it holds a lot! My Hefty, tall kitchen trash bags are full when the bag is changed. The bag is fully enclosed within the can and is easy to change..taking less than a minute to remove the full bag and replace with a new one.The lid opens as expected. We do get some unnecessary opening, as it's near the door. I may change its location.The only downside is that it does show fingerprints prominently so it does need an occasional wipe down, but we have to touch so infrequently that this is not a problem.Our house doesn't have a lot of outlets, so we use the battery powered option. It's only been a couple of weeks, so I can't yet say how long the batteries last with ordinary use.I feel this is a much more sanitary option for my family and more convenient. I'm very happy, so far, with the performance of this product.It will start to close, every now and then, while I'm still discarding something, but will pop back up right away and is only a gentle tap..no need for concern. Totally safe for use with children and pets. One of my dogs was a former trash can invader who would periodically over turn & raid the trash can. 1 swat on the snout from the lid on this one has left her puzzled & discontented! Yeah!!We love this so much, I'm really crossing my fingers that it continues to work as well as it does now!My family is spoiled already and I have gladly said farewell to the old can!UPDATE: It's been more than a year since I purchased this item and I do not regret it at all. We did have a problem with the lid tearing up after a month and it took me another month to call as the customer service support line does close at 5 M-F & there's no evening or weekend staff however, I you can file a claim online so it's important to register your product. I had not done so, but the agent was wonderful. She emailed a site link and I registered. It was a very simple process. I wasn't made to wait. The agent simply checked with Amazon and verified my purchase and immediately shipped a new lid at no cost to me. We weren't even asked to return the old one! I was really impressed.The new lid has worked well, for the most part. It is quick to close but it does stop and reopen if need be.My only complaint is that the inside of the back piece that holds the batteries gets dirty so easily and potato peels or other debri can stick there. We don't have a garbage disposal so plates getting emptied and so forth leaves a mess that very quickly becomes unsightly so that requires frequent cleaning and with the little grooves at the top, it's not the easiest thing job either. I found that the easiest way is to press the open button so it stays open and then spray the area with vinegar & water and let it sit a couple of minutes. Then I wipe with a paper towel and usually repeat.I have replaced the batteries 3 times since we bought it, but I anticipate another couple of months use before needing to be replaced again. Ours gets frequent use, I might add. I would suggest buying the adapter if you have adequate outlets. Its kind of a pain if your batteries decide to quit suddenly and you discover that your hubby robbed your battery stash for the flashlight! 😏All in all we're very pleased with our purchase and plan to order a small one for the bathroom! Guests are always asking about it and I feel it helps keep things sanitary in the kitchen.

This is the best touchless garbage can I ever had. It is exactly what I was looking for my new remodel kitchen. Perfect size, the touchless mechanism it works really well, and the metallic color it looks so nice and modern. I highly recommended. .

So after a couple of my Costco motion detection bins went to “trash,” (pun intended) I did quite a bit of “research” on others here on Amazon. I noticed that a bunch of people liked this iTouchless brand, plus the price range was much, much more affordable (as some ranged up into the few hundreds—and I will NOT be spending hundreds on a trash bin)!! Costco no longer sells the bins, so it was down to me having to find a new one!!So I received this trash bin after my normal 2-3 days, took it out of the box, and immediately saw this HUGE dent right in the front!! I was super disappointed, considering I had been without for a few days as it was. However, being an avid Amazon shopper, I knew I could replace it easily, and as an extra bonus, they even let me do a pickup the next day for free! So 2-3 days AFTER that, I finally got my non-dented bin!!The absolute BEST part of this bin is the extra a/c power adapter that came with it!!! I was used to changing the (6) AA batteries in my old ones at *least* every month, probably even more so than that! This bin does take 6 AA batteries as well, but I assume for a backup power failure in the house. I highly, highly, highly recommend the a/c adapter!! If your option doesn’t come with it, you can buy it separately for like $15—and it’s worth EVERY penny!! I hear that pretty much all the iTouchless ones come with the a/c port in the back of the lids!!It’s too soon to tell whether the included odor-control filter pack works or not...I don’t tend to throw leftover food/etc. in my trash bins anyway, so even though it’s a nice feature, I honestly don’t know if this will “work” or not!! However, it is a nice added feature!!It fits a standard-sized kitchen trash bag (I use 13 gallons)...and if you don’t want the bag showing over the sides, you simply tuck the edges around the included top rim, then tuck inside the bin!! It’s extremely simple once you do it the first time...definitely not rocket science!!The only hiccup that I ran into, aside from the first dented can, was at first the motion detection did not work. I waved my hand over and over again and it just wouldn’t open. I finally ended up hitting the open button, which didn’t open it, then hit the close button, which made it open—go figure!! I suspected we may have an issue with this, however, it fixed itself after about 10-15 minutes!! It’s been working just fine ever since. So I honestly don’t know what that was about...but it did fix itself, and I haven’t had issues with it ever again!It opens and closes somewhat quietly—probably the quietest it could get for what it is—but I read on another review of another motion bin that theirs sounded like a bulldozer when it opened and closed! So I’m definitely ok with the little noise it does make. Who knows—they could’ve been a tad dramatic!! 😂In all, I would recommend this bin, ESPECIALLY with the a/c power adapter!! You honestly don’t realize how cool that is until you’re changing batteries every 3-4 weeks at least!! If yours doesn’t come with it, go find it on Amazon for like $15!! Unboxed the trash can yesterday and was disappointed by the random scuffs on the smudgless can and on the lid. Feels like I got an open box instead of a new one. Expected that the easily scratchable lid would've been individually wrapped and protected better, but that wasn't the case. The box just had thin styrofoam on the edges, top & bottom, and the can itself was just covered in a thin, easily rippable, clear plastic bag, no tape, bubble wrap, or peelable protectors.This is an expensive trash can, so more effort should've been put into protecting it. If it was 40 bucks, I could overlook it, but it irritates me. Luckily, it didn't arrive with any dents and seems to be functioning fine, but for what I paid, wanted it to look near perfect cosmetically. Also, the wheels could've been better quality, didn't roll as smoothly as I expected, but will see. Wheels were one of the features I was most looking forward to, so I hope they'll last, but don't seem very durable. It was also difficult to put one of them in, and I was afraid it would break, but I managed.

Bags are difficult to change they suction in and I wish I had gotten a rectangle one instead of the circle one other than that the inside of the can status very clean and the electronics work very well too

A bit small but very effective. Move detection is perfect. Should have bought the wire tho which I’ll do right away. Sounds like it’s a battery drainer thing…. But it’s not the can’s problem it’s ours. We keep passing close to it so lolGood stuff thanks

Bought this for my kitty's poops and litter because it was stinking up our garage. so far it is working great a week later nothing is escaping the can. The only down side is that it came with a very big dent in it. It wasn't a big deal to me because it sits in our unfinished basement, but I could see this being disappointing for anyone who bought this for their kitchen.

Design is good. It is exactly the kind of garbage can I am looking for. Sensor works great. Easy to open when hands are full. Opening is wide enough to dump all kinds of different garages. It can work with either battery or power adapter which gives flexibility to the owner. It looks good too.Quality can be better. Power adapter input is not tightly mounted on the can. It fells off from the can in the first week. It is not hard to fix tho.Power switch is the weird. When I press the side with the dot, it turns off the can. On other appliances, it usually turns on.

The media could not be loaded.  Not working with batteries, not working with ac adapter which doesn't cons with it btw. Called customer service, no answer. I need to return it...edit! They sent me a new lid and it's been working perfectly! Love the hands and leg free bin!
