I asked for a silicone sponge, and that is what I got, however as it turns out this kind of sponge is completely useless.Essentially it simply doesn’t clean.This is because the arms are too flexible and too large compared to the rough textured surface of an ordinary disposable sponge, so you are not guaranteed to actually clean the surface on that very small scaleI discovered this when drying an apparently clean plastic tupperware with a paper towel only to find a line of dirt on the towel, EWWNever again. I’m sure the sponge is more hygienic and retains less germs and smells, and is dishwasher safe, and all the other stuff the manufacturer claims. But It Does Not Actually Clean Your Dishes!!!Also it uses soap very quickly, search elsewhere for your sustainable reusable hygienic sponge needs!!

I liked the idea of something that could be easily cleaned and was more durable so better for the planet but in reality, I didn't find these were any good for washing up and wouldn't buy them for that purpose. They are good for sitting bars of soap on in the bathroom to stop them getting soggy in water!

I bought these to replace the sponge scourers used for washing up because they seemed to offer a more hygienic solution. I do like them but have a few quibbles.When cleaning tomato sauce off plates, the green one stained and I haven’t been able to wash the stain out, no matter how hard I scrub.They clean most dishes well, but are a little flimsy and not really suited to scrubbing dried on food from plates, even after a bit of soaking. For this I have resorted to keeping a sponge scourer around for this type of washing up job, which defeats the purpose of buying them.They are nice and bright and I like that they dry out completely between use. However, the fact one has absorbed a stain means I’m not sure how hygienic they really are.

Ok for washing up if pots have only just been used but no good for wiping sides down or dried on food

When I ordered these I was hoping that they would be a more sustainable version of my usual washing up sponges, as I had become aware that little bits of sponge and abrasive fibre were ending up in the washing up bowl and thus going down the drain and into the waste water system. However, pleasant as they are to the touch, they are no good for removing tea stains from mugs or clingy debris on dishes.

This was my first try of this kind of Sponge and I am a bit disappointed. I can not say that my dishes become as clean as with my regular Sponge. I will use it for the not so dirty things. But they can't even remove tea stains in cups.As well was I appalled by the packaging it arrived in. 3 Sponges EACH packed in plastic bags. All together in another plastic bag, which then was put into another plastic bag. Overkill of plastic bags.

Does not work

I like the fact that they are made of silicone and are more hygienic than a sponge. Also easy to wash in the dishwasher and reuse. However I found they just squashed up too small in my hand and needed to be a bit more rigid to scrub pans.
