Excellent product; very reasonably priced
Two-piece Hogue grip panels replace the one- or two-piece factory grips, depending on the P226 model variant and manufacturing date. The hard rubber grip material creates a much more secure (higher friction) grip surface, which can improve weapon handling characteristics but can also have a downside. More force is required to slide fingers along that material in establishing a grip to draw the weapon from a holster, which could create a brief delay in the user's ability to draw the gun in an emergency. As with any change in weapon or carry configuration, the best thing a user can do is to practice -- until you can draw the weapon quickly and effectively without thinking about how to draw the weapon.Yes, the Hogue grips do increase the overall circumference of the grip, though the difference is moderate -- not as dramatic as other reviewers have reported. This increase is likely to be good news for those with large hands, resulting a more natural hand fit and trigger finger placement. For those with medium-sized hands, it’s likely to just be somewhat different, requiring a period of time – and practice – to get used to the new fit and feel of the weapon. For those with smaller hands, who may feel the P226 already has a large grip, then the Hogue replacement grips may not be the best choice. The Hogue installation instructions could have been more helpful in telling me how to remove the factory grip. My recently purchased P226, a standard "Nitron" version, came with a one-piece hard plastic grip shell that slides over the frame from the rear and snaps into place. No grip screws used for this version of SIG's factory grip. Removing that grip was tricky, requiring using a finger inside the magazine well to push against the inside of the grip to create an accessible space between the frame and the forward edge of the grip. I put a folded piece of paper into that space (didn't want to use a metal tool to avoid scratching the frame), and then repeated that procedure on the other side of the grip. Once I had a space opened up on both sides of the grip I could work the grip backward to slide it off the frame. There is some discussion in previous reviews and Q&As about grip screws. Here's the short answer: The Hogue grip panels do not come with screws. If your existing grips are mounted using screws, you can reuse those with the Hogue grips. If not, you'll need to order a set of four P226/P228 screws separately. The P226 frame is drilled and threaded to accept screws, even on those models equipped with a one-piece, no-screw factory grip. All in all, this was a great upgrade to the P226, for much less money than most other replacement grips. Subject to the cautions I’ve listed above, highly recommended.

Great price, nice grips for larger hands.
As some others have noted, these grips are likely a better fit for larger hands. They are a tactile, fat fit with good grip. They change the slimmer E2 grip to be more like the shape of the "normal" P226 grip (just larger)...which is similar to the P320 IMHO.TL;DR, small hands need not apply. :)

Perfect Fit for X-Five and Standard 226
These are really nice grips. I put a pair each on a standard 226 and a 226 X-Five and the fit was perfect on each pistol. The circumference is 3/16 of an inch thicker than the stock panels, but unless you have very small hands I do not think you will see it as a problem - more of a benefit - not so skimpy. Hogue includes an instruction sheet that provides a resource you can call if you have any problems. They are ready to do whatever is necessary to make things right should there be a fit problem. Make sure you read the blue instruction sheet.

A bit large
First - as good as any Hogue product. Feels very good, and went on solidly, with the halves matching without a gap.Next - fatter than I thought they would be. I thought they would be rubber but as thin as the factory grip panels. However, they are a little larger. Not a problem for me, as I have long fingers. But, they are thick around the slide controls, meaning there's not a lot of clearance around the decocking lever and slide release (at least on the pair I have). On the plastic factory grips, there are sharp angles in those areas that help with the clearance; the rubber is rounded. Also, the bulge in the rubber makes it harder to reach the mag release without shifting your grip.As I said, they feel good, and maybe each pair, coupled with each firearm, might give different results. My 226 was made in W. Germany - I don't know if that makes a difference. Good product for the money; you just have to check the fit.

Great for big hands
I've got these on every P226 I own, these are my favorite grips for them. E2 grips feel like they're made for a child, the stock P226 2 piece grips are still too small for me, and these are perfectly sized IMO. They are pretty thick so be warned, I wear either a 1XL or 2XL glove depending on who makes it.If you try to put a P226 with these into a Safariland 6360 or 6360RDS you will have to modify the holster as they are too big to fit. They will also fit a P226SAO if you are willing to modify the grips although they'll have a gap in the safety area.Took me about 15 minutes with a knife and a dremel to make it work on that gun but it is possible if you aren't concerned with them fitting perfectly.

Awesome grips!!
These grips are much much better than the plastic grips the gun comes with!! I like the panel ones because you don't really lose the look of the gun, but they feel so much better. For the cost this is easily the best upgrade I've made on my P226.

Thicc, 2 Cs.
Great quality product; that grippy texture you’re looking for? - this is it. The 226 ergonomic 2.0 grip small in your hands? This is a great alternative for those that need a little more umff for that Kung fu grip.
