I ordered this two years ago and most of the items arrived broken but I ordered more yesterday. Delivered today not a single item broken, beautiful to look at. Can't wait to put my Christmas dinner on them in a couple of days.

I do not claim about the product. I really suggest to Amazon consumers to consider again if you have any plan to purchase chinawares from Amazon. When I received the item, I found 2 plates were broken, so I applied replacement item. Then, I could find 5 broken plates in the box of the replacement item.The problem is simple - Amazon do not put any fillings. Of course they covered the original box with air cushions and put papers in the empty space between the original box and outer package. However, they do nothing for inside of the original box. I think it is the reason of all the broken plates.Coming back to this dining set - good shape and quality. Especially, I like the unique shape of tea cup, and I am totally satisfied with the quality of metallic painting on the edge of chinawares. But it does not mean that this china dining set is durable enough to take a trip from Dunfermline to Kent without any fillings inside of its box.

I received the shipment yesterday. There was a cup with a broken cup handle.

The set was superb but the initial packaging abysmal. Very, very upsetting until breakages stopped.

I am fortunate to own a complete set of country roses from the 1980s, but as you can imagine that some of the pieces are past their best! Ordered this set it arrived in very good time , well packaged and complete and unbroken, BUT! The dinner plates are 5 ml smaller and the design whilst pretty and made well is not to past standards, I can recommend this set but don’t expect it to match existing sets of the past.This is a beautiful set in its own right and would be a wonderful gift.

Don't be fooled by the flag waving, they fired their entire British workforce in the 80s to make an inferior product on the cheap in Indonesia leaving the potteries devastated, after 200+ years. The quality today would have been rejected as seconds and sold on market stores for £5 back then. Compare them yourselves, find some 70s ware and look.

I bought this set some time ago and found it was made in Indonesia. The pattern is beautiful, but the 'china' is thick and heavy. I am used to china being fine so was disappointed and wondered at the quality with it being made in Indonesia. I wish firms like this would stick to things being made in the UK/Eire as I am sure the quality would be so much better plus less pollution not having to be shipped all the way from Indonesia. These big firms are all about money and not bothered about anything else, including pollution.2018: Since writing my above review, I have purchased a china tea set of another brand, and realised that although it was made in the UK and the pattern lovely, the quality simply was not there. It chipped easily and the finish scratched easily. Royal Albert old country roses is much better quality and lasts longer, my set is still in use and as good as new. Plus the lovely pattern of Royal Albert Old Country Roses is impossible to find anything better of another brand.
