You CAN dye Polyester!!!!!
Got a bottle for £5.53.You don't need to add salt to it.I had a cream blouse made from 100% Polyester. I liked the blouse but not the colour - it made me look pale.So rather than take it to a Charity shop I took a chance on this Royal Purple dye.It works.I used my largest metal pan - it holds about seven litres.I heated my electric hob up on number 6.I put boiling water from my kettle in the pan until there was enough water for the blouse to move freely. My blouse dry weight was approx 6 oz and the bottle says it will dye 2lbs of fabric, and if the fabric is Polyester you will need double the dye. I used one bottle of the Royal purple and it was enough.I kept the water heating on number 6 [I don't have a thermometer] and stirred gently for about twenty five minutes and the dye had taken.I wore latex gloves and used an old wooden spoon to stir. The spoon is now also purple. Some water did splash out during the process but I used spray bleach to get it off the hob top and the tiles and work surface where it splashed. The pan is not stained, and I rinsed out the blouse in a stainless steel sink.I wrung it out as best I could and then laid it on a drying rack over the sink.Very pleased with the results. So you CAN dye Polyester!!!

100% polyester dress dyed lilac with no patches
Dyed a previous bridesmaid dress lilac for another wedding to fit the colour scheme. It really didn’t take long to achieve this colour from a pale dusky pink. I think cooling it down gradually is what stopped the dress from going patchy, you really have to follow the instructions to the letter but I’d definitely recommend this dye.

Much better than expected!
Turned a boring beige dress into a rich deep purple, really pleased with the results and followed the instructions to the letter! Heated on the stove top in a large pan. Dress is glittery/ Lacey overlay and synthetic material, dye took really well.

Colour on polyurethane not what expected
I've used the Royal Purple Rit synthetic dye to colour my skate wheels made of polyurethane. The colour catched very nicely, however, even though my wheels were originally white, the final colour was not what I've expected. Already after a few minutes the colour resembled burgundy more than purple. The finish is very uniform and nice, and has a high shine, however the colour is not as intended thus the three stars.

Brilliant
Used this in big pan on ceramic hob stored for 35 minutes. Then rise and wash . One bottle nothing extra well teaspoonful of washing up liquid . Kept turning heat on to keep water hot . One bottle got colour I bought on white voile curtain, then did a lace top and 2 litle strappy ones. Very happy with results.

Great colour
I found this vert easy to use and the colour came out just how I wanted it when dying white fabric. It still has plenty in it to use next time. Ince dyed the colour has appeared to not come off and stays very well.
